Find your fit
Who it is for
A merchant with physical goods can record purchases and receipts, watch stock across locations, and turn sales orders into packages and shipments. This is useful when a spreadsheet no longer gives a reliable view of available items and pending orders.
A multi-location operator can use transfer orders and reorder checks to shift or replenish stock. A business already using Zoho Books can connect sales and purchase records to its separate accounting workflow.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Create items, issue purchase orders and record incoming stock. Zoho’s migration guidance places contacts and items before dependent transaction imports; check starting quantities and item identifiers before opening inventory.
Track quantities by warehouse and use transfer orders to move stock between locations. Transfers require at least two warehouses, so verify the plan’s location allowance and location setup before relying on that flow.
Set a reorder point and check frequency so a low-stock item can appear for a purchase or transfer order. Reconcile the suggestion with actual incoming orders and lead times before replenishing.
Record quantity adjustments when physical stock differs from the ledger, such as damaged goods or a count error. Stock Summary reports then help compare on-hand quantities, reorder levels and value by item.
Create a sales order and follow it through invoicing, package preparation and shipment. The sales-order cycle can automate some follow-up transactions; review those settings to avoid unintended invoices or fulfillment steps.
Create package slips for sales-order items, then use a supported shipping integration for rates, shipment handling and tracking. A valid carrier account and credentials are required; check region, carrier and service coverage for the actual route.
Batch tracking supports lot-level item handling but is plan-gated. Verify the selected plan and test a sample receiving-to-shipping path if batch or serial traceability is essential.
Zoho Books can reflect Inventory sales and purchase transactions in a separate accounting service. Plan that connection deliberately; the Inventory migration guide excludes bank deposits, fund transfers and accounting journals.

Pricing and getting started
On the Canadian pricing page, Free lists 50 orders, one user and one location. It may fit a very small operation, but confirm the order period and compare other limits before importing a full catalog.
The displayed annual-billing prices are C$39 per organization per month for Standard (500 monthly orders, three users, two locations) and C$99 for Premium (3,000 monthly orders, five users, four locations). This is a Canadian locale display, not a universal quote.
The same Canadian annual-billing view shows Plus at C$159 and Enterprise at C$299 per organization per month, with larger order and location allowances. Premium is the first displayed tier to list batch/serial tracking, stock counting and barcode generation.
Users, additional order capacity, locations, advanced autoscans and advanced warehousing appear as separate add-ons. Model the total subscription and any shipping-provider costs before choosing a tier.
Zoho describes a 14-day trial and says users can continue on Free or subscribe after it ends. Confirm the current locale, billing selector, taxes and plan conditions during signup rather than assuming the captured Canadian display applies elsewhere.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
Before migration, map customers and vendors, items, opening stock, warehouses and then transactions in Zoho’s recommended order. Keep exports and compare item counts and stock value after a small sample import. Accounting journals belong in the accounting system.
Check how a sample sales order becomes an invoice, package and shipment, especially if sales-cycle automation is enabled. Verify that carrier credentials and supported services cover the destinations you actually ship to.
For multi-location or tracked goods, verify the plan’s location count and batch/serial rights before setting up warehouses. Test a transfer, a stock adjustment and a low-stock trigger against sample quantities.
Compare the Canadian displayed price with your own region and billing selection. Include order volume, users, locations, paid add-ons and any separate accounting service in the total cost.
