zcal

What it does

zcal is an appointment scheduling service from zcal, Inc. A host shares a booking page connected to their calendars; the invitee chooses a free time, and zcal sends the resulting meeting and confirmation emails. The service also supports team scheduling and meeting polls.

Free Forever covers individual scheduling basics. Pro and Business add team and branding controls, while connected Stripe can collect booking payments. Plan rights, seat charges and payment fees are material checks before using it for a business.

Who it is for

A solo consultant or service provider can replace back-and-forth time proposals with a booking link. Guests need no zcal account to respond. The host should inspect the connected read calendars and write calendar before sharing the link.

A team can use round robin when any one available teammate can meet, or a collective link when several selected people must attend together. A group booking can place multiple guests in one slot; a meeting poll is useful when the organizer wants votes before choosing the final time.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Create a booking page, connect one or more calendars and set which ones zcal reads for conflicts. Choose a separate write calendar for confirmed events. A Busy event blocks a time, but a Free event may leave it bookable.

Set available hours, buffers, daily booking limits and the meeting time zone. zcal can show times in the invitee’s detected zone or lock the zone for an in-person location. Test the page from another zone before publishing a high-stakes appointment link.

Invitees select a time without making an account. zcal adds the meeting to calendars and emails both sides. Check the confirmation details and connected calendar after a harmless test booking before relying on automated scheduling.

Use meeting polls to collect time preferences before setting the meeting, or group booking when several guests may share one slot. These are different flows; set the desired capacity and final booking rule deliberately.

Round robin routes a team booking to the highest-priority available host, then the least recently booked among tied hosts. Collective links combine the availability of all selected hosts. Both require a team and suitable paid plan rights.

For paid appointments, connect Stripe to take a payment before the invitee books. Review the price, refund policy and payment setup separately from the scheduling link.

Pricing and getting started

The official Help Center confirms a Free Forever plan with unlimited invite links and meeting polls, calendar sync, custom questions, email reminders and Stripe integration. Paid Pro or Business adds team scheduling and more automation/customization.

Pro Help lists team creation, round robin and collective links, extra reminder controls and no zcal commission on Stripe bookings. The Stripe guide says Free currently carries a 3% zcal commission; Stripe processing is separate. A canceled paid booking is not automatically refunded.

Business is the listed tier for custom domains, and the host must control a subdomain to connect one. Plan-specific customization and domain behavior should be checked before distributing branded links.

Pro and Business are paid options. Confirm the current amount, billing term and currency in the purchase flow before upgrading; the official Help describes these editions by capability rather than providing a durable price quote.

Adding a paid team member can cause a prorated seat charge. Help says canceling Pro keeps access through the current paid cycle. Check the seat count and renewal date before expanding or canceling a team.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Before sharing a public link, connect the intended read and write calendars, mark real conflicts Busy, check timezone behavior and make a harmless booking to inspect both confirmations.

For teams, decide whether bookings should go to any one host or require several at once, then test a round-robin and a collective link. Verify plan rights and any per-seat charge before inviting colleagues.

For paid bookings, compare the Free and Pro fee rules with your Stripe settings. Decide how cancellations and refunds will be handled, and confirm current subscription pricing at checkout.
