Worksection

What it does

Worksection organizes a team’s project work from folder and project down to tasks and subtasks. Managers can assign owners and deadlines, follow progress in task views and dashboards, and keep discussion and files with the work.

Its plan choice matters: Free is small, Basic adds dashboards and reports, Business adds Gantt and guest access, and Premium adds tighter administration and storage options. The live pricing page has a mixed currency display, so its shown amounts need checkout confirmation.

Who it is for

Teams coordinating several projects can use Worksection to break delivery into assigned tasks, filter the workload and move between table, Kanban, calendar and, on eligible plans, Gantt views. The project dashboard and reports help managers inspect progress if the team keeps dates and statuses current.

Service teams involving a client or contractor can consider guest access on Business and above. Guest visibility is task-specific; sharing a nested subtask also reveals parent work, so a permission rehearsal is useful before real customer material is added.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Folders hold projects, projects hold tasks, and tasks can have two levels of subtasks plus checklists. Give work an assignee, start and finish dates, a priority and status so the plan has owners and a schedule.

Teams can work from table, Kanban or calendar views and apply filters, saved views or bulk updates. A task can be added directly from a Kanban column, subject to the person’s creation rights. Check the exact view and filter rights of the chosen plan.

Relations can simply connect tasks, block completion or adjust schedule dates. Gantt bars visualize timing and dependencies on eligible plans. A task may have only one Finish-to-Start or Start-to-Start dependency, and circular links are disallowed; test a real project sequence before importing a complex schedule.

Project dashboards show timeline, activity and task status; reports analyze projects, tasks, time, people and days, with Excel or CSV export described. Make sure tasks are kept up to date before using a chart as a status report.

Task cards can hold files and comments, while the built-in messenger supports project conversations. Review who can access a project before attaching documents or moving a sensitive discussion into it.

On a plan with guest rights, external people see only permitted tasks. Guests need individual or bulk invitations to tasks; sharing a nested subtask also exposes its parent hierarchy. Review the parent’s notes and files in a test account first.

Time tracking can record estimated and actual effort for tasks or projects. It must be enabled by an administrator; disabling it removes the timer and time data from reports. Validate the Time & Material tier and cost visibility before relying on financial reporting.

Pricing and getting started

The October 20, 2026 pricing page lists Free for up to five users, two projects and 1 GB storage with no credit card. Basic expands to unlimited projects and 2 GB per seat, with roles, dashboards and reports; its card displays $5 per seat monthly when billed monthly or $3.75 on annual billing.

Business lists 5 GB storage per seat and adds guest access, Gantt, private tasks/comments, Time & Material and a daily planner. Its card displays $10 per seat monthly with monthly billing or $7.50 on annual billing. Confirm which cost and time reports are included before adopting it for billing work.

Premium adds Project Kanban, enforced two-factor authentication, external storage, on-premise backups and IP restrictions. Its card displays $15 per seat monthly with monthly billing or $11.25 on annual billing. The site also lists regular Kanban Boards on Free; ask how Project Kanban differs.

The pricing page includes seat, annual and currency selectors, and the static capture shows a “€ EUR” label near dollar-marked amounts. Treat those figures as displayed examples; confirm actual currency, taxes, seat minimum, annual payment and the total at checkout or in a quote.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Build one sample project with a task, two subtasks and a blocked handoff. Try a date change in Gantt and inspect its effect on dependent work. The one-dependency-per-task and no-cycle rules can matter for a complex rollout.

For external collaboration, invite a harmless guest to one task and one nested subtask. Check what the guest can see, including parents. Compare this result with the Business plan’s guest rights and the team’s real confidentiality needs.

Before choosing a plan, count active projects, participants, storage and the need for Gantt, reports, time costs or guest access. Recheck the pricing selector in the intended country and billing period, since the captured static page shows mixed currency cues.
