Find your fit

Who it is for

A sales team can use company, contact and opportunity records to keep a pipeline and its related activity together. Twenty is especially suited to a team that wants to change record types or fields rather than fit every process into a fixed CRM layout.

An organization with technical operations can choose a self-hosted edition and maintain its infrastructure, while a team wanting vendor-run hosting can compare Cloud plans. If individual-record access or SSO is required, scope the Organization plan rather than assuming Pro includes it.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Relationship model. Standard objects cover Companies, People, Opportunities, Tasks and Notes. Connect a contact to a company and an opportunity, then add custom objects, fields or relations if the team tracks a different kind of work.

Pipeline and views. Configure deal stages, move opportunities between them, and track amount and close date. Table, Kanban and calendar views can be filtered and saved for different teams or reporting needs.

Email and calendar context. A connected Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailbox can link emails to matching people and companies, with filters for what gets imported. Calendar events can appear on related CRM records. Test a sample mailbox before syncing broad historical mail.

Workflows and reporting. Visual workflows can respond to record events, schedules, manual actions and webhooks, then update records or communicate through connected services. Configurable dashboards can show pipeline and team metrics. Pilot a small workflow before using it on real contacts.

Migration and extension. Import data by CSV or API with field mapping and duplicate handling; export while a subscription or trial is active. GraphQL and REST APIs reflect the workspace data model, so a sample integration can test the exact fields it needs.

Access controls. The current pricing comparison places row-level permissions and SAML/OIDC SSO in Organization rather than Pro. Check the roles, record visibility and identity-provider flow with a sample workspace before depending on them.

Pricing and getting started

Twenty's published code is mostly AGPLv3, with some MIT packages and some commercially licensed files; consult the repository license for the deployment you plan. A free self-hosted edition exists, while commercial self-hosted features require a purchased per-user license key. If that subscription ends, the paid features stop but the core instance and data continue.

The current Cloud FAQ shows Pro at $9 per user per month with yearly billing and Organization at $19 per user per month; the page lists Enterprise from $50,000 per year. Organization adds SSO and row-level permissions; Enterprise adds further isolation, provisioning and support. Verify current seat count and quote before purchase.

A 30-day Cloud trial is advertised without a credit card. The displayed Pro tier includes 50 workflow credits per year; metered allowances can expire, so compare expected automation volume and any extra charges rather than assuming unlimited AI or workflow use.

Paid plans generally charge per user in advance, with taxes extra and renewal at each billing period. Cancellation takes effect at period end. Cloud workspaces are suspended after subscription expiry; Twenty says it retains the data for at least 14 days and warns by email before deletion, so arrange an export before expiry.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Walk one company through contact linkage, an opportunity stage change and a follow-up task. Check whether the custom fields and saved views actually match what a salesperson and manager need.

Connect a test mailbox and calendar with a narrow import window. Check which emails and events appear on records before exposing historical or sensitive communications to a wider workspace.

Import a small CSV, inspect duplicate handling and field mapping, then test export and an API query. The Cloud retention window after cancellation is a poor time to discover that an export is incomplete.

Compare the actual operating costs and entitlements: free self-hosted core, paid self-hosted features with seat licenses, or Cloud Pro/Organization/Enterprise. Include taxes, user count, advanced access needs and workflow-credit use in the decision.
