Who it is for
Teams with recurring pool routes can organize work by service address. A location can contain several pools, spas or other bodies of water, and repeat visits to the same location do not multiply its monthly location charge.

Core capabilities
Use the Schedule feature to assign customers and work orders with drag-and-drop controls, inspect weekly workloads and view routes on a map. Pricing lists Schedule and route optimization under Scaling Up; Getting Started has a route builder.
Generate invoices from recorded services, work orders, chemicals and installed items, then send them in bulk by email or text. Review the billing records and accounting mapping before a billing run.
Accept customer card or ACH payments and let customers enroll in AutoPay. The customer portal exposes invoices, saved payment methods and receipts. Confirm processing fees, supported merchant regions and payout timing.

Pricing and getting started
Getting Started and Scaling Up use monthly serviced-location pricing, with a base covering forty-nine locations and unlimited technicians and administrators. Enterprise uses custom pricing. Confirm the current total and currency, along with messaging, phone and other add-on charges.
A limited promotion offers new customers one month of Scaling Up free through a designated signup link. It covers up to forty-nine locations; excess trial usage can be billed after the trial unless cancelled. Standard charges follow, and the offer cannot be combined with other discounts. Check the current conditions before signing up.

Before you choose
The pricing FAQ separately describes a thirty-day subscription refund guarantee requiring cancellation and a refund request within that period. Unserviced locations are not billed individually, but the plan’s base minimum still matters. Confirm the final bill and any payment-processing or add-on costs.
On weak-signal routes, Skimmer says its mobile app keeps service data and uploads it after connectivity returns. Check Settings > Sync Zone for pending uploads and the last web-to-app and app-to-web sync times; Perform Sync can send or fetch changes manually. If a technician uses two devices, Skimmer instructs them to enter route work on one Primary Device for Route and use the second for viewing. Its FAQ identifies two Primary devices as a common cause of duplicate route stops. Before relying on this workflow, rehearse a fictional stop under poor signal and confirm the web record after sync; check current account rights and behavior.
Skimmer can run Auto Invoicing on a date chosen for each customer (1–28 or Last), while customers without one use the company default. It applies the existing auto-invoice settings and includes billable completed stops, dosages and monthly charges since that customer's last invoice; no billable items means no invoice. Before changing a schedule, inspect the displayed next run and item date ranges, then reconcile a fictional customer's first invoice and email setting. Skimmer warns that changing one customer's date multiple times in a month may leave charges uninvoiced, even though it will not double bill.
Skimmer Issue customer emails are configured by issue type, separate from the office's Issue record. Its FAQ says the email sends once after the technician syncs the issue, with a 30-minute delay; an issue deleted during that window does not reach the customer. The customer message is text-only, while technician photos stay with the office. Before treating an Issue alert as customer notice or photo evidence, have authorized staff run a fictional issue with a test address, confirm the per-type Customer Email setting, sync, saved address and delay, and compare the received message with the internal Issue record.
Skimmer's Work Order Added/Finished office emails are set on each Work Order Type, rather than with the email option for other Office Alerts. Its Help FAQ says the type's Alert office when added and Alert office when finished switches send to the global Email All Alerts To list, while the per-alert Additional emails field does not apply to Work Order alerts. If dispatch and billing require different recipients, have authorized staff inspect the type settings and shared recipient list, then use a fictional work order to verify added and finished messages reach the intended inboxes before relying on that routing.
For Skimmer Billing with AutoPay, a failed charge needs two checks. Skimmer says it emails customers after a failed payment they did not directly initiate, including AutoPay, with the amount, due date and a pay-again link. An office summary of prior-day failures is optional under Settings > Payments and uses the configured alert address. Separately, Office Alerts has Payment failed and AutoPay turned off events; the latter can reflect automatic disablement after a failure, and panel, email and urgency are configurable. Ask the billing owner for a nonlive walkthrough of both notification routes, recipient settings and the resulting invoice and AutoPay status. Help documentation alone does not prove that an email arrived or a charge will retry.
Skimmer AutoPay is not triggered by every invoice for an enrolled customer. Its FAQ says manually created invoices, or a manual line added to an Invoice Generator invoice, do not trigger AutoPay. Work Order invoices need Allow AutoPay enabled for each included Work Order Type when the invoice is created; one ineligible Work Order blocks automatic payment for the whole invoice. Before relying on unattended collections, have the billing owner review a nonlive routine, mixed-Work-Order and manual example, checking customer enrollment, type settings and generated invoice details. These eligibility checks differ from a charge that runs and fails.
Skimmer's AutoPay timing depends on Pay Days Before Due under Settings > Invoicing. Its FAQ describes a blank field as processing near invoice send on the 15-minute scheduler, zero as triggering on the generated invoice's due date, and a positive number as that many days before the due date. An invoice's due date can be changed during generation instead of using the default Net setting. Before relying on collection timing, have the billing owner inspect a nonlive generated invoice, its due date and the Pay Days Before Due value; the documented trigger is not proof that a charge succeeded.
Skimmer's Readings Report summarizes the latest reading status for each pool, spa or other body of water and opens a per-water trend and history view. Its out-of-range flags use the current Office Alerts thresholds, so changing those settings changes the report results. The summary includes cleaning and work-order stops by default; a newer work order without readings can take the place of an earlier cleaning stop with an out-of-range reading until work orders are filtered out. The Help page lists the report on all tiers, with report-view and alert-settings permissions. Have an authorized office user compare fictional stops under the intended thresholds and filter before relying on the view.
Before deleting or redesigning Skimmer's service checklist, review where each item applies and what history you need to keep. The universal checklist affects every route stop for every tech, while work orders use separate checklists. Skimmer says deleting a checklist task also removes it from service history. Its guide places required checklist items and custom schedules on Scaling Up and Enterprise tiers. In an authorized harmless pilot, compare a sample task's current checklist and history before changing a live one, and confirm the selected tier's controls.
Before enabling Skimmer's overdue-invoice service suspension, have billing and dispatch review the threshold and affected route in a nonlive walkthrough. On Scaling Up and higher tiers, an invoice that reaches the enabled threshold suspends the customer and automatically skips service stops until the account is no longer overdue; service then resumes automatically. A technician can manually unskip a stop without clearing the customer's suspended status. A separate email about skipped service is optional, while invoice emails continue under the existing reminder setting. Check who will monitor the skipped stops and how customers will be informed before turning this on.
Before inviting customers to Skimmer's Customer Portal, review which details the portal exposes and the email address on a permitted test customer. The setup guide lists Customer Portal on all tiers and provides Send Preview, but a customer's Invoice tab can show 'Invoices are disabled' when Send Invoices is unchecked under their email, even if the portal is enabled. Have an authorized admin compare a preview with a test customer view and confirm the customer-profile checkbox before relying on portal invoice access. Verify any real invitation and payment path separately.
Skimmer's Route Builder guide says manual drag-and-drop ordering is available, while Optimize Route is limited to Scaling Up and Enterprise and up to 25 routes per route assignment. The Route Dashboard lets users save an optimized or manually reordered route as the default or reset it; its drag-and-drop reordering cannot move a stop to another technician. In a fictional no-write route-planning review, compare the current sequence with an optimized one and check when the team should save it as the default. Ask Skimmer how the guide's 25-route wording applies to your stop count and plan. No customer route or schedule was changed here.
For a Skimmer pool-service account, chemical charges depend on the customer's service-rate type and each dosage setting. Skimmer says With Chemicals includes marked dosages in the service rate, while Plus Chemicals prices them separately; included chemicals are still tracked. In the invoice generator, included dosages appear as Do Not Invoice by default, but staff can change that flag for a particular dosage. In a fictional no-send preview, compare one included chemical and one extra-charge chemical, checking rate type, Can include with service, quantity, unit price and the final invoice line before approval. Confirm the account's settings and who may override the flag. No chemical, invoice, email or payment was changed here.
Skimmer distinguishes a one-time work order from an automatically recurring one, which its guide lists for Scaling Up and Enterprise. Each recurrence appears on the chosen technician's schedule; leaving it unassigned keeps it in the Unscheduled bin until assigned. Review frequency, start date, optional end, estimated time and OFF/ON activation before expecting a job on the schedule. Work Order Type defaults for work needed, technician pay and customer price can be overridden for one recurring order, and later type-default changes must also be made on that order to match. Compare a fictional one-time job with a recurring job without saving either, checking the intended technician, schedule and price. Confirm plan and role access, and verify any customer notifications separately.
