Find your fit
Who it is for
The vendor addresses trade contractors in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and security, among other fields. Teams handling both short service calls and longer projects may find its shared office and field workflow relevant; the implementation effort should be judged against the team's size and processes.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Simpro's scheduling tools assign jobs to technicians and show work across calendar views. The Simpro Premium page also describes recurring schedules and field updates to job status; this confirms availability on Premium without establishing that other plan labels lack scheduling. Test how dispatch changes reach staff and how missed or reassigned visits are handled.
Staff can create, update and send invoices from Simpro, including from the field workflow. The invoice view can be filtered and reported on. Test partial billing, corrections and approval permissions against representative service and project jobs.
Simpro describes payment links, a customer portal, mobile Tap to Pay and portable terminals. Its pricing page lists payments under the Base Plan while the Premium page also describes payment capability; those statements do not establish an exclusive plan boundary. Methods, processor setup and eligibility vary by location and account, so obtain transaction, hardware, refund and payout terms before choosing a workflow.
For customer assets with repeat service needs, Simpro can track recurring work. Its separately purchased Maintenance Planner adds service levels and testing frequencies, alerts when an asset is due or fails a test, and tools to schedule recurring jobs and assign technicians. Ask for a demonstration that follows one asset from a due alert to an assigned job, and get the add-on entitlement and cost in the written quote. The general asset-maintenance listing alone does not establish that the planner is included.
On an asset-maintenance visit, Simpro Mobile can locate an asset by barcode or QR code and record test results and notes. With Maintenance Planner, the field view can include failure points and recommendations; the vendor says recorded job notes can be emailed to the office after testing. In a fictional asset check, verify the technician's edit rights, the asset and job records that receive the results, and the report the office can actually produce before using this as a service proof.

Pricing and getting started
The current pricing page presents a Base Plan with quoting, scheduling, inventory, invoicing, payments, finance and reporting. It includes three Data Feeds and lists other add-ons separately. Ask how additional Data Feed capacity, Digital Forms, Maintenance Planner, Takeoffs, Simtrac fleet tracking and SMS are priced for the proposed account.
Simpro requests a personalized quote instead of publishing a fixed subscription price. Its FAQ says the amount depends on office and field team size and selected add-ons, with monthly or annual billing available. Ask for the total in the correct currency, user roles, term, changes and renewal conditions in writing.
The vendor says it charges an initial setup fee for onboarding, training and data migration. The amount depends on business complexity, customization and support, with onsite and remote implementation discussed. Define the records to migrate, integrations to configure, training groups, acceptance checks and post-launch help in the proposal.
Accounting integrations include QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and MYOB in the pricing matrix. Verify the specific product version and country, transaction direction, tax mapping and error handling in a pilot; availability in a matrix does not establish that a legacy ledger will reconcile without setup.

Before you choose
Simpro's quote tools can use catalog items, prebuilt components, labor and material costs, and customer details. Staff can revise and send a quote, then track its status. Confirm local tax, price-book and approval rules before treating a quote as ready for use on a live job.
Simpro Mobile gives field staff access to assigned jobs, site history, customer details and job notes. They can record service information, photos, customer signatures and time, subject to the permissions and workflow configured for their role.
Mobile time entry can distinguish work, pauses and travel, while office staff can compare scheduled and actual labor. Before relying on job-cost reports, check how employee rates, nonbillable time, materials and later corrections are entered and approved.
The published base plan includes inventory management and purchasing alongside job work. A team moving from separate stock records should test the path from an estimated item to purchase, allocation, field use and final cost rather than assuming the stock count reconciles automatically.
Simpro offers a guided demonstration. Use it to follow a normal request and an exception from estimate through dispatch, mobile update, invoice and accounting export, with any proposed add-ons enabled.
Simpro names implementation teams in the USA and Canada, UK and Ireland, and Australia and New Zealand. Confirm local implementation, payment methods, data and support terms for the business's operating countries before signing a proposal.
For work without coverage, load a representative job while connected, then check what Simpro Mobile actually shows and permits on each device when disconnected. Simpro says the app displays the last data it received and syncs with the office after connectivity returns; its FAQ does not enumerate every offline action. Reconnect and compare the job in the app and office before making this a field procedure.
Before a long-term data handoff, ask a permitted Simpro administrator to demonstrate the relevant Utilities > Export areas and inspect sample CSV or text files against the records you need. Simpro's database backup guide says backups cover database records and settings but omit attachments, which need separate saving before a restore. Agree on an attachment retrieval plan and verify the needed exports before treating the handoff as complete.
Simpro's service-job guide says the job Description appears in Simpro Mobile and on the customer invoice, while private notes entered in Details > Summary are visible in Mobile but not to the customer. Before staff use these fields with real jobs, have permitted office and field users compare a fictional description and note, then preview the invoice and any customer form template the team will send. Confirm the account's role and template settings, and keep sensitive internal details out of the customer-facing description.
For recurring maintenance billing, Simpro describes an invoice template with parts and labor that can email invoices at regular intervals, with bulk changes to template prices. Map the billing dates separately from service visit dates in a fictional contract, then check the recipient, any approval stage, updated rates and the accounting handoff before enabling automatic sends. Confirm the quoted configuration and any add-ons; a scheduled visit does not prove an invoice was reviewed, sent or paid.
If two customers share one site in Simpro, review customer-portal asset visibility before granting access. Simpro Help says customer assets are managed within sites and warns that customers associated with the same site may be able to access other customers' assets while viewing jobs and quotes in the portal. For a fictional shared site, have an authorized administrator check the customer-site associations and demonstrate what each customer role can see using sample assets and jobs. The warning describes a possibility; actual visibility depends on the account's configuration and permissions.
