Find your fit

Who it is for

It suits a retailer that wants control over its own product catalogue and checkout rather than only selling through a marketplace. The working decision is how many products and orders the team handles, which gateways it needs, and whether the available delivery and stock rules fit the actual merchandise.

ShopWired presents UK-focused payment integrations and GBP plans. A buyer outside the UK should check its chosen gateway, tax and delivery coverage before committing. ShopWired Payments itself has UK residency and bank-account conditions, even if a storefront can use another supported gateway.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

A store can start from a responsive theme and be adjusted with the merchant’s colors, images and text. Preview key pages on desktop and phone before launch, especially product detail, basket and checkout, rather than judging only the home page.

Merchants create product records with prices and catalogue details. Product and category spreadsheets can help import or update a larger range. Start with a small sample and inspect variations, images and categories before importing the whole catalogue.

Stock control depends on a SKU on each tracked product. The vendor guide says an order deducts from the available quantity; a missing quantity on an SKU-managed item defaults to zero. Check a fictional order and cancellation path so the counts match the merchant’s physical stock.

ShopWired supports integrated payment gateways and an offline payment option at checkout. Choose the gateway for the target market, then make a controlled test purchase through the provider’s test mode where available; confirm how pending and successful payments appear before accepting real orders.

Delivery zones and rates can be configured by basket value, weight or both. Test representative postcodes, item weights, basket totals and any free-delivery threshold, since a working checkout still needs a delivery charge that matches the merchant’s actual costs.

Orders can be viewed in one place, moved through statuses, sent for dispatch and paired with customer status emails. Map the team’s real picking and dispatch steps to those statuses, and check notification wording with a fictional order before making it customer-facing.

Pricing and getting started

The current monthly pricing cards display Essentials at £34.95 with a £50,000 annual-turnover threshold, Advanced at £79.95 with £200,000, and Premium at £149.95 with £500,000. Enterprise displays £299.95 per month and unlimited turnover. Confirm how the vendor measures turnover and when an upgrade is required for a growing store.

The pricing page also shows lower per-month equivalents for annual, two-year and three-year billing, plus a 14-day trial without a card. Compare the actual upfront charge and renewal term rather than treating a multi-year display as a month-to-month rate.

ShopWired says it charges no platform transaction fee on external gateways, but that does not remove the external provider’s processing charge. ShopWired Payments lists starting UK consumer-card rates of 1.9% plus 20p on Essentials and 1.5% plus 20p on higher plans; other card types and dispute costs need a separate fee check. ShopWired Payments is for eligible UK businesses or individuals with a UK bank account.

The Essentials card lists paid monthly extras for additional user accounts, accounting apps and trade accounts. Advanced and Premium list some of those items as included. Compare the needed features and total app costs against the turnover threshold before choosing a base tier.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

A useful pilot can create a fictional product with an SKU and stock quantity, place it in a category, configure two delivery destinations and run a test-mode checkout. Inspect the resulting order, stock deduction, status change and email. This checks the core workflow without using a real customer purchase.

Before launch, verify the current plan’s turnover ceiling, app charges, billing term, payment eligibility and provider fees. Export a small product sample and review taxes, delivery rates and customer-facing messages with the responsible team; those details can matter more than a small difference in base subscription price.
