Find your fit
Who it is for
It fits a publisher, business or agency willing to operate a PHP and MySQL or MariaDB installation and an AWS account. The self-hosted model gives the team responsibility for setup and ongoing hosting, while Sendy supplies campaign and subscriber tools.
A company with multiple products, or an agency serving clients, can separate work into brands. A brand holds its own campaigns, templates, lists and segments; client credentials can be given brand-level privileges and monthly sending limits.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Create or import subscribers into lists. Custom fields can hold information for segmentation or personalization, and the vendor describes single or double opt-in, subscribe forms and unsubscribe pages. Plan field structure and consent handling before importing a real audience.
Define segments from list conditions, then choose which lists or segments a campaign includes or excludes. This is useful when a newsletter should go to a selected audience rather than every subscriber.
Build a template with drag-and-drop, WYSIWYG or HTML editing. The optional AI Assistant can draft an HTML email or subject line, but it is a separate add-on; review any generated copy before sending.
Send a newsletter through Amazon SES and review a report with opens, clicks, bounces and complaints. Sendy also describes automatic handling of bounces, complaints and unsubscribes, so these outcomes should be checked in a small test before a larger campaign.
Set up drip autoresponders or date-based messages for follow-up. Rules can respond to selected events with a notification or webhook, such as after an autoresponder is sent.
Use the documented HTTP POST API for subscriber actions and campaign creation, sending or scheduling. Some calls require a recent Sendy version, and the API documentation says sending or scheduling a campaign through the API needs a configured cron job.

Pricing and getting started
The vendor displayed a $69 one-time Sendy software fee in this October 2026 capture. A license is for installation on one domain, and minor updates are free until the next major version. Confirm the currency, checkout amount and upgrade terms before purchase.
The one-time software purchase does not remove operating costs: you supply compatible hosting and an AWS account, with Amazon SES sending billed separately. The vendor’s example send rate is not a universal bill; check current AWS charges and account limits for the planned sending volume.
Installation service is optional and was displayed at $79 one time. AI Assistant is also optional: the homepage showed a $39 bundle offer, while the dedicated add-on page showed $49 one time. These are different offers, so check the checkout and what is included before paying.

Before you choose
Budget time for the actual installation: configure the application URL and database, upload the files and activate the license. The setup guide then requires AWS IAM credentials and describes requesting an exit from the SES sandbox before sending broadly.
Test with a small permission-based list before importing the full audience. Check opt-in and unsubscribe pages, custom fields, one targeted segment and a test campaign, then inspect bounce and complaint handling in the report.
If an agency will let clients send from separate brands, test which staff can see each brand, the privileges and monthly limits, and how the chosen From addresses and single-domain license fit the planned installation.
For an integration, verify the exact API methods in the installed version and configure the cron job before depending on scheduled API campaigns. Keep a manual send and reporting check in the acceptance test.
