SendPulse

What it does

SendPulse combines bulk email campaigns with mailing-list targeting and event-triggered follow-up flows. A marketer can prepare a message, select a list or tagged contacts, send it, and review engagement. The broader suite also includes chatbots and CRM tools, but this listing focuses on its email service and the email actions in Automation.

Who it is for

A small team starting a newsletter can collect addresses through subscription forms or import an existing permission-based list, then use a template or the drag-and-drop builder. The campaign wizard asks for recipients, sender details, subject and content before the send step. Check the list and sender before a live campaign.

For a planned campaign, SendPulse lets the sender select mailing lists or contacts with tags. Its guide says a mailing-list send can use segmentation conditions, while a tag-based selection searches across lists. That distinction matters when contacts appear in several lists or a tag is reused.

The editor can use a saved or ready-made template, the drag-and-drop builder, an uploaded file or HTML. A test send helps catch content errors; the guide says ordinary test campaigns do not display personalization variables, so use a test list with populated variables to inspect that output.

A mailing-list segment can use subscriber fields or prior email activity. Some criteria use only three months of retained data; check whether older activity is available before relying on a past-campaign rule.

Automation can start from events such as a new subscription or custom event, then use email, branching and delay steps. Test the event data and contact matching in an account before depending on a live journey.

Pricing and getting started

The current email pricing page advertises a Free tier for up to 500 subscribers and 15,000 emails per month. It includes the email builder, contact import, forms, basic Automation and open/click analytics. Free is useful for assessing campaign setup, while paid tiers add scheduling, segmentation and more automation options.

Standard, Pro and Enterprise increase capabilities and limits. The builder offers subscriber-based subscriptions with monthly, six-month and annual billing choices, plus a pay-as-you-go email package for occasional sends; the help article says purchased email packages last one year. Confirm audience size, currency, billing period and final quote at signup.

Before you choose

Map the workflow to a plan. Immediate sending, scheduled sends, static segments, dynamic segments and branching flows have different entitlements on the current comparison. An authenticated account and checkout were not tested.

Before sending, check consent, sender identity, audience filters, test recipients, links, variables and unsubscribe settings. The campaign guide also says a send may undergo moderation. No real campaign or delivery result was observed in this research.
