Scrive eSign Online

What it does

Scrive eSign Online is a browser-based portal for sending agreements to be signed. The sender uploads a document, adds signing parties, sends it and receives notice when the signed agreement reaches the archive. It suits a team that wants to manage its signing trail without building an API integration.

Who it is for

Scrive positions Essential for individuals or small teams and Business for growing organisations. Compare the plans by the identity checks, templates, integrations and administration the team actually needs rather than treating every feature on the product page as part of the entry tier.

Only the person who initiates an agreement needs a Scrive licence, according to the pricing FAQ. A business should still count every staff sender because users within one company cannot mix price plans.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Upload the agreement and enter each signing party’s contact details before sending. The parties receive the request and the sender is notified when the completed document is stored. Verify the recipient list and signing order before a real agreement leaves the team.

An unfinished request can be followed from the E-archive. Scrive’s Help describes reminders to everyone still waiting or to one specific party. Other archive actions include withdrawing a process and extending its due date, subject to the document’s current status.

The E-archive can export a PDF with the signed document, merged attachments, signatures and event log; a CSV export carries document and process metadata. Keep an export with the business record before relying on the archive alone for long-term retrieval.

Each signed document has an evidence package that records signing events and timestamps. The identity evidence depends on the method used: a standard email invitation links a signature to an email address, while stronger methods may be needed for the document and jurisdiction.

Scrive presents reusable templates and approver routing for agreement work. Confirm the chosen plan and setup before building a repeatable process, since the product page describes a wider feature family than the Essential tier alone.

Pricing and getting started

The eSign Online pricing page lists Essential with e-archive, an evidence package, unlimited documents and forwarding. It says BankID/eIDs cannot be added to Essential. Business adds templates, integrations and branding, with eID/BankID, SMS authentication and Forms builder/Shareable Links available as fee-bearing additions. Enterprise is quote-led for customised workflows and administration.

The default pricing page viewed in October 2026 shows Essential at €21 and Business at €49 per user per month, billed annually. The UK product page separately shows £21 and £49 on the same per-user annual basis. Confirm the region, currency, tax, seat count and annual total in the actual quote.

The advertised trial lasts 14 days and includes ten documents, but the vendor says some eID verification and custom integrations require separate setup and are outside the trial. Use the trial to check ordinary document preparation and archiving, not to assume every paid identity method is available.

An eID or SMS step can add variable fees, and Business lists those methods as add-ons. Forms builder/Shareable Links are an add-on package; the separately priced eSign Forms service and eSign API are not automatically included in this portal subscription.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Run a fictional agreement through upload, signer setup, draft review, reminder and archive/export checks before sending real documents. Verify the recipient addresses and mobile numbers used for identity checks; a misdirected request would undermine the evidence trail.

Match the required signature type to the specific document and jurisdiction. Scrive notes exceptions where handwriting or a higher electronic-signature level is required. Confirm the appropriate method and any eID eligibility and cost before treating a standard email signature as sufficient.

Compare the local annual quote with the number of senders and the real add-ons needed. Essential lacks eID/BankID as an add-on; Business and Enterprise can add eID/SMS for fees, while advanced Forms and API workflows have distinct scope.
