Runn

What it does

Runn plans people and capacity across projects. A manager can sketch project phases, assign available resources, inspect team workload and test the capacity impact of possible future work. It is most useful where the hard question is whether enough qualified people are available for planned projects, rather than how individual tasks are executed.

Who it is for

A delivery or operations team juggling multiple projects can put phases on a timeline, allocate people according to availability and skills, and see where assignments overlap or future demand exceeds capacity.

A manager considering tentative projects can add placeholders before a named person is committed and forecast how the extra work changes utilization. Saved scenario comparison is currently labeled beta and belongs to Standard or Advanced.

Budget owners should count managed people in the planner rather than login accounts. The visible offer charges per resource seat, starts at a 20-seat minimum, and can add a billable seat when an administrator adds a new person beyond the purchased count.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Project structure. Lay out project timelines, phases and milestones at a planning level to estimate when work and people are needed.

Resource scheduling. Place people on work according to availability and workload, then adjust allocations when priorities or delivery dates move.

Skills and roles. Search or filter people by the capability needed for an assignment, not just whether their calendar has space.

Capacity visibility. View team availability, workload and utilization together to spot gaps or over-allocation before committing to more projects.

Tentative demand. Include not-yet-confirmed projects and placeholders to assess upcoming work before staffing is final.

Forecasts and scenarios. Examine changing workload and demand; Standard and Advanced support saved scenario comparisons as a beta feature to show the capacity impact of different tentative project groups.

Pricing and getting started

The visible monthly pricing view lists Lite at USD $7 and Standard at USD $11 per managed resource seat per month; Advanced requires a quote. The FAQ says plans start at 20 resource seats, so a buyer should model at least that minimum rather than multiplying a price by only a handful of planners. Annual billing is offered at a lower rate.

A resource seat belongs to a managed person in the People Planner, while people who only log in as users are described as free and unlimited. When every paid seat is occupied, adding a managed person can add a billable seat automatically. Archiving someone frees that seat for reuse but does not automatically lower the paid count; an admin must reduce it.

Standard adds timesheets, five custom fields, built-in integrations, API access and a 30-day audit log above Lite. Advanced is quote-led and adds unlimited custom fields and reports, workstreams, custom dashboards and SAML SSO. Match the needed features to the selected tier.

The pricing FAQ describes a 30-day Standard trial with no card. Lite and Advanced trial access is handled through contact, even though plan cards show trial actions; confirm the intended trial tier before evaluating plan-only features.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Count the people to be actively scheduled, not only administrators or viewers. The 20-resource minimum and automatic seat addition can make the actual monthly charge different from a simple one-person example.

Decide whether the team needs only baseline capacity charts or also timesheets, integrations, saved scenario comparisons and advanced security/reporting. Saved scenarios are beta and Standard/Advanced limited in the current help article.

Assign an owner to review seats after hiring, archiving or reorganizing. Archiving a managed person creates a reusable opening but does not itself reduce the billed seat count. No live account, allocation, scenario, timesheet, trial signup or purchase was tested for this listing.
