Rise People

What it does

Rise People offers Canadian payroll software within a broader people-management platform. Payroll staff can review a pay run, calculate deductions, send direct deposits, handle remittances, and prepare year-end tax forms. Rise also markets a separate fully managed payroll service; this profile focuses on the self-run software.

Who it is for

A Canadian employer running payroll internally can preview pay before finalizing it, use multiple pay schedules and access payroll reports. Rise says its software supports English and French across provinces and territories; confirm your organization’s specific tax and workflow requirements during onboarding.

Teams already using Rise for people records may benefit from the described sync of new-hire and time-off information into payroll. Verify which connected HR, time or benefits modules are in the proposed tier or add-on package before relying on them.

Employees can retrieve paystubs and T4s online, through the mobile app or by email. The feature page also describes direct deposit, which gives staff a self-service record of what was paid.

Pricing and getting started

The Start pricing grid displays 8 per employee per month, and the site says displayed prices are in Canadian dollars. A footnote says every tier also has a base fee, so the per-employee figure is not a complete monthly total. Start lists automated payroll, direct deposit, tax remittance and T4 generation.

Grow and Optimize route buyers to sales for pricing. Rise describes month-to-month terms, while Managed Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking and Scheduling are shown as add-ons. Ask for a full quote showing tier, base fee, headcount and selected modules.

Fully Managed Payroll is a separate service in which Rise personnel handle the payroll process while the customer retains review and approval. Confirm whether a quote is for self-run software, managed service or both.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Rise lists unlimited payroll runs and several schedules on its feature page. Confirm payroll cutoffs, bank-funding terms, off-cycle needs and any support for your mix of employees and contractors before the first live run.

The payroll page describes broad Canadian regional support; implementation details, provincial rules and connected-module entitlements should be checked against the actual plan. Managed service responsibilities should be agreed separately from self-run software features.

This profile is based on current public vendor pages. No payroll account, employee record, bank deposit, tax remittance, year-end filing, managed-service contract or checkout was tested.
