ReliaBills

What it does

ReliaBills combines invoice creation and delivery with recurring schedules and optional collection tools. A business can prepare invoices, send them by email, show open balances and, under the right plan and approved payment setup, automate reminders or customer payments. The choice turns on how often bills repeat, which payment methods are needed and whether USD-only processing fits the business.

Find your fit

Who it is for

It is aimed at businesses with customer invoices, especially those that send the same kind of bill each month or need follow-up on past-due amounts. A service business can first map its billing dates, changes in invoice amounts and current accounting records, then decide which steps should remain under staff review.

FREE is a reasonable path to examine for invoice creation and email delivery; PLUS adds the payment-collection path described in the official help. Businesses using another currency or an existing merchant account should verify fit before moving stored payment details or customer communications.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Create invoices one at a time, import a batch, or bring work across from another system. The product also lists estimates that can be approved and converted into invoices. In a pilot, inspect customer data, tax fields and numbering before sending a sample.

Invoices may be emailed manually, in a batch or through a schedule, with a postal option for customers who need paper. Recurring schedules can generate invoices monthly, quarterly or yearly. Check recipient preferences, start dates, exceptions and whether postal delivery would add per-piece costs.

A recurring invoice can display its own amount due alongside other open balances. This can help a customer see the account position, but an operator should reconcile that display with payments and credits before relying on it for collections.

The customer portal describes invoice and payment history, statements and customer information updates. Payment and autopay controls require their own plan and setup checks; use a test customer to confirm what is visible and who can change payment details.

PLUS-oriented follow-up tools describe email, SMS and postal reminders, configurable late fees and retries after failed autopay. Set timing and message content carefully, obtain consent where needed, and check the failed-payment reason before a customer receives another attempt or notice.

ReliaBills describes a two-way QuickBooks connection for customer, item, tax, invoice and payment records. It also lists receivables reporting with CSV/XLS export. Test duplicates, field mapping and export columns before allowing it to touch live books.

Pricing and getting started

The public price shows FREE at $0 per month and PLUS at $24.95 per month on a month-to-month basis. FREE is described as unlimited for customer, invoice, email and user counts, but electronic card/bank-debit acceptance is tied to PLUS in the help article. Confirm the chosen account's rights rather than assuming every feature on the pricing page is free.

The posted card schedule lists 3.0% plus $0.30 for standard cards and 4.0% plus $0.30 for American Express, with extra terms for chargebacks, high-ticket and non-US cards. The ACH wording conflicts within the same pricing page, so obtain the current written rate before calculating payment costs. ReliaBills says its integrated merchant account is required.

Customer-message choices can change the total cost: the page lists $0.05 per delivered SMS and $0.70 plus postage for a mailed invoice or statement. The payment help says display, transaction and settlement currency is USD only. Confirm merchant-country eligibility, tax and message volume before subscribing.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Run a controlled test with one imported or newly created customer, one recurring invoice and an internal email recipient. Review the schedule, open-balance display, portal access and export, then simulate a changed amount or failed payment only in an approved test setting. Keep real customer messages and charges off until timing and consent are checked.

Before putting customers on autopay, confirm PLUS approval, permitted merchant region, USD settlement, the full card/ACH fee schedule, access controls and how stored payment methods would move if the business leaves. Reconcile accounting sync with the existing ledger and keep a recoverable invoice/report export.
