Pylon

What it does

Pylon is a B2B support platform for teams whose customers ask for help across messaging and email channels. It turns incoming conversations into issues in one support workspace, keeps the company and contact context with each issue, and gives the team a route from triage to reply. The fit is strongest when several people share responsibility for customer issues and need a company-level view of support activity.

Find your fit

Who it is for

A B2B support team working across Slack, Teams and email can bring those requests into one queue, then sort by owner and urgency. Pilot the actual channels customers use; the pricing FAQ names Slack, email and chat widget in every plan, while other channels or phone can have different setup or charges.

A support lead can choose manual triage when an issue needs judgment, or define routing rules for predictable work. Check who owns a ticket after it passes to a specialist, especially if that person works outside Pylon.

An account-facing team can inspect contact and issue history under each company before responding. Test how account records and customer tiers are maintained if another CRM remains the source of truth.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Channel intake. Messages from connected Slack, Teams, email and other supported channels can become issues in a shared inbox. Map the real entry points first and send sample requests through each one to check how threads and account context arrive.

Issue views. Filter and organize work by owner, status, priority, account or SLA. Saved List and Kanban layouts give triage and specialists different views of the same underlying work; agree which fields the team must keep current.

Assignment and escalation. A person can triage issues manually, while rules can route predictable requests by channel, tier or other issue attributes. Use a small set of actual cases to test whether automatic assignment helps or hides ownership.

Account context. Pylon links an issue to a contact and account, so a reply can be informed by previous company-level support activity. Confirm that shared or changing customer identities map to the right account during setup.

Replies and internal coordination. Agents can reply to customers and keep internal notes in the issue editor. Test the visibility boundary with a harmless sample note before relying on it for sensitive internal discussion.

Service targets. Configure response and resolution SLAs for the customer or issue segments that matter. Review support-hour versus calendar-hour calculation, and remember that a changed trigger does not automatically reset deadlines on existing issues.

Knowledge and reporting. The platform includes a customer-facing article library and default support dashboards with filters. Start with a handful of recurring questions and metrics, then see whether article ownership and issue categorization make the reports useful.

Understand the offer

Pricing and getting started

The public page displays Professional at $89 per seat and Advanced at $139 per seat; Enterprise is a custom quote. The captured seat figures omit an explicit time unit, so request written seat, currency, billing-period and minimum-seat details before estimating a total.

Seat price is only part of the decision. Pylon says agentic support uses credits, with a 5,000-credit minimum commitment and additional credits available when needed. Ask for a forecast based on real ticket mix, and confirm how credits are billed and replenished.

The pricing FAQ lists core ticketing, Slack/email/chat-widget unified ticketing, knowledge base, surveys and analytics in every plan. Advanced lists customer portal, role-based access and custom reporting; phone is shown separately at $35 per seat per month. Verify each intended channel and add-on in the quote.

Buying is demo-led. The FAQ says both monthly and annual billing are available, while standard contracts are annual and new customers face an unstated minimum seat count. Resolve the actual commitment, implementation scope and cancellation terms with sales.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Run a small pilot with requests from two real channels, one account that has multiple contacts, a manually assigned issue and a rule-routed issue. Check that the owner, customer thread and internal note are clear at each handoff.

Test an SLA against the team's operating hours and a changed priority. Record what happens to already-open issues before promising the same response target across customer tiers.

Compare a written quote for seats, agentic credits, phone and any Advanced-only requirements. Pylon's public seat figures alone do not establish the total cost for a particular support team.
