Paymo

What it does

Paymo connects project tasks, time capture and client invoicing. A small service team can assign work, record the hours spent on it, then prepare an invoice from the timesheet. The public pages establish this workflow; a live account has not been tested.

Who it is for

Independent professionals and small client-service teams may value keeping project work and billable time together. Try one real project and invoice to judge whether the task and billing structure fits the way clients are charged.

Project managers coordinating several people can use task lists and dependencies, while sharing selected progress with clients through guest access. The Gantt and workload tools have plan gates, so check the chosen tier before building around them.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Task management. Create and assign work to team members and group related tasks into lists. This provides a concrete place for ownership and handoffs across a project.

Project planning. Set task dependencies and view dates in a Gantt plan. Test a representative sequence of dependent tasks; the current pricing table places the Gantt task view and dependencies in Pro.

Project reporting. Paymo describes project progress views and time reports that can show allocated or spent hours. Check whether the team needs the detailed timesheet reporting listed from Plus or the portfolio Gantt view listed in Pro.

Pricing and getting started

Entry path. Paymo currently shows a Free plan limited to one user, two projects and one client, with unlimited tasks, time tracking and invoices. Those limits make it most relevant for a solo trial of the basic workflow.

Trial. The vendor offers a 15-day trial of a chosen plan without a credit card. Its FAQ says a monthly or yearly subscription is needed to continue access after the trial. Record which plan was tried so the later feature comparison is accurate.

Paid tiers. Solo adds room for five projects and three clients plus guest access. Plus lists timesheet reports, estimates and expenses, proofing and profitability; Pro adds Gantt dependencies and workload scheduling. Compare the exact features needed before choosing a tier.

Displayed prices include introductory terms that change after three months, and the page offers monthly and annual selectors. Confirm the current currency, billing period, renewal price and tax at checkout instead of relying on a promotional amount in this listing.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Time to invoice. Log a few billable and nonbillable tasks, review the resulting timesheet, then inspect the invoice before sending it. The vendor says invoice details remain editable after converting time data.

Client access. Guest sharing can show clients project progress, with permission controls over what guests can see and do. Use a sample guest account to check that private project work is hidden.

Views and plan fit. Five task views are described on the feature page, but the pricing table distributes board, calendar, spreadsheet and Gantt access across paid tiers. Confirm the exact view your team intends to use in the selected plan.

Scheduling. Dependencies and workload planning become relevant when one task or person affects another. Try a small linked schedule before assuming the Pro tools will fit an existing project method.

The listing is based on current public vendor pages, including a promotional pricing display. It does not establish account behavior, final checkout terms, payment processing or invoice delivery; verify those in the intended account.
