Who it is for
Finance teams with employees who spend on company cards can use Payhawk to request missing receipts and see which expenses still need submission, approval or review. It is especially relevant when accounting needs a defined handoff after finance review.
An organization comparing linked-card software with Payhawk-issued cards should separate those options early. The vendor lists US, UK, EU and EFTA service markets and a worldwide software-only offering, while issued cards have additional eligibility rules.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Collect receipts after card spending. A card payment creates an expense; the employee attaches a document in the portal or mobile app, checks extracted fields and submits it to the configured workflow.
Chase missing documentation. Transaction prompts and later reminders ask the spender to attach a receipt, reducing the need for finance staff to find the document manually.
Route reports for approval. Assigned approvers can approve or return reports, and the return sends included expenses back to the owner for correction.
Handle finance review. Reviewers can examine individual items or bulk review approved expenses without warnings; flagged exceptions require individual attention.
Include reimbursable employee expenses. Payhawk describes direct bank-account reimbursement from the platform, subject to the legal entity’s payment-service eligibility.

Pricing and getting started
The US pricing page displays Cards & Expenses starting at $449 per month. That module lists linked-card support, receipt chasing and reimbursements; Payhawk-issued Visa credit cards are optional.
The final quote can change with selected modules and add-ons, admin/accountant seats, cards and transaction volume. Accounts Payable, Procurement and Travel are presented separately, so ask for the exact scope and price of the desired stack.
A separate Growth Program targets eligible new EEA or UK small businesses and describes a seven-day exploration period. Its eligibility rules include a UK micro-enterprise/charity exclusion, so do not assume the offer applies to every small company or every Payhawk plan.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
Try a small fictional card-expense flow. Attach a sample receipt, inspect what OCR filled, then correct a field before submission so the team can judge the actual employee work involved.
Return one sample report for correction and have the assigned approver inspect a report with more than one approver. Each approver can see the whole report, so test the visibility and routing against your policy.
Connect the intended accounting system in a safe test environment and review a sample expense. Automatic export depends on a live integration, while warned expenses need individual review before the finance step is complete.
Check the company’s country, legal entity and industry before budgeting for issued cards or reimbursement payments. Software-only access is broader than the listed card and payment-service markets.
Request a written quote identifying the Cards & Expenses module, user and card counts, transaction allowances, accounting integration and any optional add-ons.
