Find your fit
Who it is for
It suits teams building an employee handbook, operational reference library or project wiki. Subsites can give departments or projects separate pages and access settings, while folders, tags and navigation links help people find content within them.
Papyrs has a free Personal Wiki for one user and two subsites, but team use is governed by paid user and subsite limits. A read-only viewer or invited guest still counts as a user, so estimate everyone who will need a login.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Build wiki pages with a drag-and-drop editor, rich text and attached files. Arrange them in folders or subfolders and add navigation links to make long documentation easier to browse.
Create subsites around a team, project or topic. Each has its own pages, people and settings, which lets an organization separate working groups within its site.
Use find-as-you-type search across pages, discussions, form records and supported file content. Folders, tags and the pages index give readers other paths when they do not know the right search words.
Give people view-only, edit or admin access to a subsite, and decide whether it is invite-only. Papyrs also describes guest or public subsites for external documentation; review that boundary carefully before sharing internal pages.
Compare changes and restore older page or file versions. That gives editors a way to inspect what changed and recover from a mistaken edit.
Readers can discuss pages and subscribe to change notifications. Papyrs also advertises backups and an export route, which is worth checking with a sample before relying on it for an exit plan.

Pricing and getting started
As displayed on October 18, 2026, the free Personal Wiki includes one user, two subsites, unlimited pages and 1 GB storage. Team Wiki lists up to 20 users and 20 subsites. Company Wiki lists 60 of each; Company Intranet lists unlimited users and up to 100 subsites. Check the appropriate plan for everyone who can log in, including guests and viewers.
The reviewed USD display shows Team Wiki at $99 monthly or $89 per month with annual payment; Company Wiki at $386 or $347; and Company Intranet at $999 or $899. Papyrs says EU and UK customers are charged in euros and applicable tax may be added. Ask for a current checkout quote in the required currency and billing interval.
The current pricing page advertises a 14-day trial and says going over a user or subsite limit leads to an upgrade option rather than an automatic plan change. Confirm the current signup period and any needed capacity before importing real content.

Before you choose
Map departments, projects and external collaborators to subsites before adding sensitive files. Test invite-only membership, view-only versus edit rights and a guest account with fictional pages; a public subsite should be a deliberate publication choice.
Create a sample handbook page, attach a file, organize it in a folder and search for text inside the file. Then revise the page and confirm who can compare or restore a prior version. Check whether the plan’s 120-day history window is sufficient.
Try a realistic exit exercise: download a backup or data export and inspect the result for pages and attachments. A version history is helpful for editing mistakes, but teams should also know what they can take out if they leave.
Budget with all staff, read-only viewers and invited guests who will log in, plus the number of subsites needed. If a team is near a plan boundary, ask Papyrs how capacity upgrades and annual billing would affect the final bill.
