Find your fit
Who it is for
A small business sending routine agreements can build one document, add required signature fields and reuse it as a template. Test with a fictional signer to check that every field and final PDF looks right before sending to clients.
A team collecting intake information in Paperform can map responses into a Papersign document and send it for signature. Confirm who owns the form, how consent is obtained and whether the bundle or standalone subscriptions cover the intended sender group.
Operations or HR staff who send repeated agreements can use templates, status notifications and a completed-document certificate to track handoffs. The document owner should still verify recipient details and store the final record under the organization’s policy.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Upload an existing PDF or draft in the rich editor, then combine pages and place signature fields. Branding options can make a client-facing agreement match a business’s visual style without changing the underlying signing record.
Recipients open a link, review and sign from a browser without a Papersign account or paid seat. A sender can check progress and notifications instead of chasing a document through email attachments.
Save a document as a template with signature fields already positioned. Reuse it for the next recipient, but review names, dates and final wording before each send.
Papersign can prefill known data, and its Paperform integration can turn a form response into a prepared document. This is an optional connected workflow; check field mapping and data handling with fictional information before automating real submissions.
A signed document carries an activity trail and signed-document certificate. Keep both with the executed PDF, and check what the trail records and how it can be exported for the organization’s retention needs.
Papersign describes email-based signer verification on Pro. Its own comparison says government-ID and biometric verification are absent, so a higher-assurance use case needs a separate identity and legal review.
The vendor explicitly excludes Qualified Electronic Signatures under EU and UK eIDAS. Confirm the required level for each document and jurisdiction rather than assuming every electronic signature method has the same legal effect.
The Paperform Platform can bundle forms, eSignatures and workflow automation. Papersign can also be bought alone; choose based on whether the process starts with a form or with a ready document.

Pricing and getting started
The Free plan currently allows three signed documents each month, with the allowance resetting at the next month. This can cover occasional sends, but check the count of documents that must be completed in a busy month.
Pro currently lists $24 USD per sending user monthly, or $240 USD per sending user yearly ($20 per month equivalent), excluding tax. Signed documents are described as unlimited subject to fair usage; paid seats are for senders, while recipients sign without a seat.
Pro API access and webhooks have a separate allowance of ten API-signed documents per paid seat per month. Enterprise lists unlimited API-signed documents and custom pricing with SSO, SLA and local data residency. Price manual sends and API volume separately.
Papersign is sold alone or through the Paperform Platform. The FAQ says signed PDFs and certificates can be downloaded after cancellation, but confirm account access and export timing before ending a subscription.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
For a pilot, use a fictional document with two recipients and all intended fields. Walk through preparation, link delivery, each signature, status changes, the final PDF and certificate so the team knows where errors can enter.
Match authentication to the document’s risk. Email verification on Pro is narrower than government-ID or biometric verification, and Papersign does not provide the qualified signature type described in its EU/UK disclaimer.
Count actual sending teammates and expected monthly completions before selecting Free, Pro or a platform bundle. If an integration will send documents automatically, include the separate API-signed allowance and fair-usage terms in the estimate.
Confirm the governing jurisdiction, required signer consent and any witnessing or identity requirements with an appropriate advisor. Treat the vendor’s compliance descriptions as product claims, then retain the document version, activity trail and certificate for the organization’s records.
