MobiWork

What it does

MobiWork connects a field-service job across the office and mobile team. A quote or customer request can become a work order, dispatch assigns the visit, the field worker follows job steps and records what happened, and an invoice can stay linked to the work. The central value is keeping that chain visible without treating each stage as a separate file.

Who it is for

It suits installation, repair and maintenance businesses with staff or contractors who work away from the office. A buyer with only a few appointments should weigh MobiWork’s broader work-order and billing process against the setup effort, user minimum and annually prepaid terms.

The team should map who prepares estimates, books and dispatches jobs, performs field work, and approves invoices. MobiWork has separate choices for single- or multiple-user dispatch and records the job’s progress through statuses such as Waiting for Parts and Need Follow Up.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Create a quote using the pricing and service details needed for the job, then turn an approved estimate into a work order. Staff can also add a work order directly from Work Orders, Quotes or Schedule, with or without immediately dispatching it. Test one straightforward request before importing a larger customer list.

Choose a date and dispatch mode for the work order. The help guide describes specific time, first available, first or last position, and closest distance, plus one- or multiple-user assignment. Those time choices apply to that dispatch rather than becoming permanent route-optimization rules; test a reschedule and a two-person job.

The work-order view has statuses from Open and Dispatched through In Transit, On Site and Completed, with follow-up and waiting-for-parts states. This lets the office distinguish a visit that needs another step from one ready for billing; configure the team’s status habit before relying on reports.

A field worker can see assigned work orders in the mobile schedule and open a job from it. The mobile completion flow uses required and optional action items, which the administrator can configure. A pilot should verify that the team can follow the intended repair or installation steps without excessive taps.

During a work order, staff can capture photos, comments and a customer signature in forms. They can record used parts and services before generating a linked invoice. Check the exact form fields and review permissions using a sample job before collecting real customer information.

The mobile invoice can be created from a work order, quote or customer record, keeping the relevant association. In the work-order flow, staff can add line items, change status and accept payment. Rehearse invoice review and payment setup with fictional data before enabling live collection.

Plan rights affect the full field workflow: the current grid places a reusable parts and services catalog in Advanced and inventory management in Premier. The ability to type a used part on a work order should not be mistaken for full stock control in Starter.

Understand the offer

Pricing and getting started

The current grid displays Starter at $20, Advanced at $40 and Premier at $60 per user per month, prepaid annually. It does not spell out a currency code in the captured text. Starter has a two-user minimum and five-user maximum, Advanced allows up to fifteen, and Premier lists unlimited users. Confirm currency, taxes and the full prepaid amount in a written quote.

Starter lists work orders, forms, scheduling, dispatch, invoices and named payment/accounting integrations. Advanced adds recurring work, parts/services catalog, time tracking and job costing. Premier adds inventory, offline operation, projects, crews and route tools. Compare the actual tasks and required integrations against each plan rather than buying on the broad product overview.

The plan grid names Clearent and Stripe for payments and QuickBooks Online/Sage One for accounting, but it does not establish processor fees or the setup required for a particular account. Confirm supported geography, connector scope, data flow and any implementation charge before live billing.

MobiWork describes guided onboarding with a project manager, meetings, training and optional specialist work for configuration, integrations and migration. Its page calls the focused phase typically 30 to 90 days. Ask for a written implementation scope, fee and timeline, then check what support continues afterward.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Pilot one complete job: quote, convert or create the work order, dispatch a sample user, follow mobile steps, mark a parts delay, finish the visit and inspect the linked invoice. This exposes whether office and field staff see the same job information.

List the features the buyer actually needs, especially reusable parts catalog, inventory, offline operation, route planning, payment processing and accounting sync. Compare them with the current tier grid and make the vendor demonstrate the selected plan before subscribing.

Budget by named users and implementation scope, not just the displayed monthly-per-user number. Check annual prepayment, currency, tax, processor costs and who will own data migration, training and invoice configuration.
