Find your fit
Who it is for
It fits customer support teams that mainly work through email but need several people to own, discuss and hand off customer conversations. The same model can serve sales or operations teams that share an address.
A team using live chat alongside email can route website conversations to the same team or an individual. Teams needing follow-up work can create tasks inside conversations; evaluate whether that workflow suits your support process.

Pricing and getting started
The current pricing page displays annual-billing rates of US$14 per user per month for Starter, US$24 for Productive and US$36 for Business. These are per-seat rates billed yearly; confirm team size, billing frequency and final checkout before budgeting.
A new team is offered a 30-day Productive trial without a card. The current billing guide caps that trial at 25 users and 10 shared accounts. Rules and automation are Productive or Business features, while live chat adds Twilio usage billing.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
Account scope. Shared-account messages are automatically visible to the team, while personal-account mail stays private until shared. Decide which addresses should be team accounts before connecting mailboxes.
Channel setup. Team Inboxes can include email, SMS, live chat, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, but each channel must be connected. Test the channels and handoffs your team will actually use.
Team coordination. Internal comments, drafts and tasks live alongside external messages. Agree on assignment and close conventions so colleagues know who is handling each conversation.
Repeated answers. Canned responses can be personal or shared with a team. Keep the templates current and review them before sending customer-facing replies.
Automation and follow-up. Rules depend on triggers, conditions and actions and require a higher plan. Shared-conversation snoozes can apply to one person or everyone, so test their effects before relying on them for response coverage.
Research scope. This profile uses current official public pages. No Missive account, shared mailbox, Twilio connection, message delivery, task assignment, trial signup or checkout was tested.
Team Inbox workflow. A teammate can reply or assign from the shared queue; an assignment moves the conversation to the assignee’s view and clears it from the common queue. Confirm who will triage, assign and close each request before switching traffic.
Task detail. Missive distinguishes assigned conversation tasks, subtasks and standalone tasks, with a combined Tasks view. Decide which type your team will use for customer follow-up and who owns due dates.
Chat setup. Website chat messages can route to a Team Inbox or individual inbox, but Missive Live Chat requires a separate Twilio account, its credentials and widget installation. Twilio bills usage directly; confirm its current charges before enabling chat.
