Megaventory

What it does

Megaventory connects location-based inventory with supplier purchases and customer orders. A buyer can track an SKU at each warehouse, receive goods against a purchase order, then ship items from an assigned location. Its production module adds component-to-finished-good tracking when enabled.

The system is most relevant when stock movements and order documents need to line up across multiple locations. It has tools for stock alerts, opening balances and user access, but the actual workflow depends on enabled modules and permissions.

Who it is for

A retailer or distributor with more than one store or warehouse can view physical on-hand stock by SKU and location, plus unreceived purchases and unshipped sales where Ordering is enabled. A sample two-location SKU is a useful fit check.

A team assembling products can define purchased components and a manufactured finished good, attach a bill of materials, allocate materials to a production order and receive the output. That path requires production configuration and location-level access.

A business moving off spreadsheets can import product records and then load opening quantity and cost by location through Inventory Adjustment. Reconcile sample SKUs and valuation before a real cutover.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

The On-Hand Inventory and Alerts view tracks physical quantity per SKU/location. It can store alert thresholds and bin-style sub-locations, and show expected inbound purchase quantities against unshipped sales quantities when the Ordering module is active.

For purchasing, create a supplier purchase order with product rows and save it Pending or Approved. Pending keeps details editable; approval selects the receiving location. Receiving can be partial, and each receipt increases that location’s stock.

For sales, create a client sales order as Pending or Approved. Approval identifies the location from which goods will ship. A shipment or sales-invoice document can then move stock; a Pending shipment leaves quantities unchanged, while approval reduces them.

Production is a configured module. A finished-good SKU can carry a bill of materials, and a production order can allocate components before receiving finished stock at a location. Test permissions and quantities with a harmless example before using it for real production.

The import process starts with a vendor spreadsheet template and accepts CSV or Unicode CSV/TXT. Opening stock is a separate adjustment after products exist; it records starting quantities and values at a selected inventory location.

Administrators can limit access by page, location and supplier/client. The mobile inventory-taking flow can scan items and finalize adjustments by location; confirm who may perform counts and approve changes.

Pricing and getting started

The public page viewed for this listing showed Pro at $135 per month with five users, a 50,000-transaction allowance, 20 locations, 20,000 products and one company. It also displayed monthly charges for extra users and transaction blocks. Confirm the selected billing option, currency, tax and limits in a quote or checkout.

Megaventory says seat count and transaction volume drive subscription pricing. Orders alone are excluded from the transaction count; issued documents such as sales invoices, purchase bills and production receipts count. Estimate document volume from a real month rather than only counting orders.

Enterprise is custom-quoted, and the site advertises a 15-day trial. Separately, Inventory Planning is described as a third-party beta pilot with its own subscription and setup fee; do not assume it is included in Pro.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Map the intended stock locations, sample SKUs and alert thresholds. Check whether the on-hand view shows the correct quantity, inbound purchase balance and unshipped sales demand for the enabled modules.

Run a fictional partial receipt and shipment. Confirm that a purchase receipt increases the right location, a Pending shipping document does not move stock, and an approved shipment reduces it. Decide who may approve consequential documents.

If manufacturing matters, configure the module and test a small bill of materials from component allocation through finished-goods receipt. Verify the location and user permissions before relying on production stock balances.

Before migrating, test the CSV template, opening quantities and unit costs with a small safe dataset. A trial should also cover location restrictions and a mobile count before live adjustments.

Budget users and issued document transactions, then confirm the current Pro or Enterprise quote. Request separate terms for Inventory Planning if forecasting suggestions are needed; it is a distinct beta integration.
