Who it is for
Marketing teams that send recurring newsletters can start with the editor and campaign workflow. Teams that need different messages for distinct contact groups should evaluate Essential segmentation; those planning behavioral follow-ups should evaluate Premium automation.
A team with developer-managed notifications can also examine Mailjet’s API and SMTP relay, but should scope marketing campaigns and transactional sending separately. Validate a sending address and real list before a launch campaign.

Pricing and getting started
The Free plan needs no credit card and allows up to 1,000 contacts, 6,000 emails per month and 200 emails per day. The current plan comparison places segmentation in Essential and automation in Premium; confirm the intended tier before building those workflows.
The official September 2026 USD monthly table lists Starter at $9, Essential 15k at $19 and Premium 15k at $29. Annual prices are shown as lower monthly equivalents under annual billing, and the volume tier changes the price; check the selected market, send volume and checkout total.
Mailjet describes a 30-day introductory Premium feature trial for new accounts. A Free account still has its daily sending cap during the trial, and Premium tools lock when the account returns to Free unless upgraded.

Before you choose
Prepare the sending address and contact list first, then check the campaign name, audience, subject and sender fields. Use the test and preview steps before Review & Send; a scheduled campaign must be cancelled before editing and rescheduling.
Segments can use contact activity, list subscriptions and properties. Create a representative segment and inspect its membership before applying it to a campaign; the plan guide excludes this feature from Free and Starter.
Automation relies on start criteria and workflow actions. Test the intended entry event with a small controlled list, and plan for active workflows to pause after a downgrade to a plan without automation.
