Loyverse POS

What it does

Loyverse POS brings checkout, basic stock tracking, sales reporting and customer tools into one retail workspace. Map a real sale, refund and end-of-day report before adopting it across locations.

The mobile checkout can issue printed or electronic receipts, apply discounts and handle refunds. Test taxes, receipt wording and staff permissions on your intended devices before opening a till.

Find your fit

Who it is for

A small shop can start with checkout, free stock tools and customer records; a cafe can also evaluate kitchen display. Decide which counter and back-office roles need access before loading a live catalogue.

Multiple locations can share one account, but the paid add-ons have different charging units. Model your store count, staff count and reporting period before treating the free tier as the whole operating cost.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Essential inventory can track items and components and alert on low stock. Purchase orders, transfers and deeper stock controls sit in the Advanced Inventory add-on, so test the exact stock workflow needed.

Sales analytics covers the last 31 days in the free tools. Unlimited Sales History is a paid add-on for earlier reporting and export; check whether your accounting and audit needs reach beyond that window.

Loyverse POS can accept card payments through SumUp where that provider and a supported reader are available. Using the SumUp App on Android requires Android 10.0 or higher, and SumUp works only on mobile devices with geolocation enabled. Confirm the merchant account, reader, country coverage, fees and refund process before using it at a live till.

Pricing and getting started

The core POS, 31-day analytics, essential inventory and several companion tools are advertised as free. Paid Unlimited Sales History, Employee Management and Advanced Inventory add-ons have separate terms; confirm the current quote for your location and headcount.

Each paid add-on advertises a 14-day trial. Use a test catalogue and confirm how access and records behave when the trial ends before adding operational data.

Before you choose

A built-in loyalty program lets registered customers earn and redeem points. Define enrollment and consent practices, then test a return visit and refund before relying on points balances.

Food-service teams can send POS orders to a separate kitchen display with item details and notes. Test network coverage, routing and special instructions during a representative rush.

Loyverse says POS sales can be recorded offline and later synced, while Loyverse Payments card processing needs internet. Rehearse an outage and reconnection with a test sale before depending on either workflow.

Before migrating a Loyverse POS catalog, inspect the item-list CSV using a representative product. Loyverse says the Back Office exports all items to CSV but excludes images and has no image-export option. Plan a separate way to preserve any product photos before relying on that file as a complete catalog handoff.

Use an outage drill to test Loyverse POS beyond a sale. Its offline guide says receipts remain locally marked Unsynced until connection returns; refunds, customer creation or edits, integrated card terminals, and stock levels or negative-stock alerts are unavailable offline. Open tickets also stay on the current device until reconnection. Reconnect and verify receipt synchronization before signing out, and decide how staff will handle refunds and card payments during an outage. No live sale, payment or outage was tested here.

Before using Loyverse Back Office's Cancel receipt to correct a sale, verify the operator's permission and the exact receipt. Loyverse says cancellation is irreversible and removes the receipt from reports; a canceled sale returns items to stock, while canceling a refund receipt deducts them. Canceling a receipt does not refund an integrated card payment. Assign the separate card-refund action and reconcile the POS receipt, stock and payment record before any correction.

At shift close, Loyverse compares expected cash from cash sales, refunds and pay ins or outs with the amount physically counted and shows the difference. Its Back Office shift report also records the difference and cash movements. If cashiers should count without seeing the expected amount, check the role's View shift report access right. Run a test shift with a pay in or out and a deliberate variance, then confirm the closing view and exported reports meet your reconciliation process.

When Employee Management is in use, compare cashier and manager roles before opening a till. Loyverse has separate POS rights to view older receipts, perform returns, void saved items in open tickets, and open the cash drawer without a sale; Back Office receipt cancellation is another right. A restricted POS action can receive one-time access after an authorized employee enters a PIN. Rehearse a fictional refund and saved-ticket correction with each role, and check who can see receipt history, so routine cashier access and authorized overrides match the shop's policy.

Before replacing a Loyverse POS device or reusing its POS slot, reconnect the old device where possible and verify that its receipts appear in Back Office. Loyverse warns that deactivating a POS loses all unsynced sales data on that device. If deleting a POS, close open tickets and its shift and sync every receipt; synced receipts remain in reports. Give this check to the account owner or someone with Manage POS devices permission, and rehearse it with a test till.

For shared bills, Loyverse POS documents a Split payment flow: staff can divide a ticket into portions, change the default equal amounts, and choose a payment type for each portion. A separate receipt can be printed for each payment, while the completed sale is recorded as one receipt with multiple payment types. In a fictional mixed cash/card purchase, check that the portions total the basket and staff can reconcile both tenders to the single sale record; confirm card-processor and hardware support separately.

Before relying on Loyverse POS for a physical stocktake, confirm the paid Advanced Inventory subscription and choose a Full or Partial Inventory Count. Full automatically lists items with Track Stock enabled; Partial can add items individually or by category or supplier. For Partial selection, composite and untracked items do not appear, while each variant appears on its own row. Staff can save a count in progress; stock levels for counted items update after Complete and Confirm Count. Rehearse with a fictional catalog and sample quantities, then agree how excluded items and variances will be handled before changing live stock.

If a shop moves items between Loyverse POS stores, budget for the paid Advanced Inventory subscription and use a Track Stock item in a test transfer. Save as Draft leaves stock unchanged. Creating the order, or approving a saved Draft, deducts source-store stock while destination stock stays unchanged in transit. The receiving store must select Receive after the items arrive for destination stock to rise. Compare the order status and both store quantities at each step, and assign who confirms receipt before relying on the destination's available stock.

For a multi-station Loyverse POS shop, check that Open tickets is enabled and every terminal is online in the same store. Loyverse says a saved ticket can be opened, edited and closed from another terminal; after the sale is completed, it leaves the open-ticket list on all devices. Rehearse a harmless two-device handoff and confirm staff permissions, who owns the ticket, and what each terminal shows after closure. The existing offline limitation still matters: tickets remain local until reconnection, so do not rely on a live shared queue during an outage.

Loyverse POS's registered-customer purchase-history view is narrower than a multi-store account may suggest. After the customer is added to a ticket, View purchases lists that customer's receipts from the current store only; offline, it shows only receipts previously downloaded to that device. For cross-location returns, rehearse a fictional customer with receipts from two stores and compare an online and offline till. Arrange a separate authorized lookup for receipts the till cannot display, and check refund permissions and payment handling separately before promising a cross-store return.

Shops using Loyverse POS for staff hours should budget for its paid Employee Management add-on and test Time Clock with each employee's own PIN. Staff clock in and out at the POS; Back Office timecards can be added or corrected, and Total Hours Worked displays decimal hours (0.25 means 15 minutes). Rehearse a fictional missed punch and check the applicable add-on quote before using these records in a payroll process.

Before promising partial returns for goods sold by weight in Loyverse POS, rehearse a fictional receipt with a quantity-sold item and a weighed item. The refund guide lets staff choose a partial quantity when at least two units were sold, but tapping a weighed item adds its entire sold weight to the refund ticket; partial-weight refunds are not supported. It also says refunded quantities return to stock. Agree on a process for a customer returning only part of a weighed item before processing a real refund.

Before sending a Loyverse POS receipt, check each store's Receipt settings. Show customer info can put a registered customer's name, phone and address on printed or emailed receipts; Show comments can include both ticket and item comments. When enabled, those details also appear on a refund receipt. The settings are saved separately for each store, and turning them off for customer-facing copies does not hide the details in internal POS or Back Office receipts. In a fictional no-sale, no-send walkthrough, compare sale and refund receipt examples for two stores, decide which notes belong in customer-visible comment fields, and have an authorized operator confirm who may change the actual settings before staff use them.
