JobNimbus

What it does

JobNimbus describes itself as an all-in-one app for roofing contractors. Use a sample roofing job to check how its records and team handoffs fit your process.

Sales boards show leads and jobs together with estimated totals. Agree on stage definitions and required details before automating a board.

Find your fit

Who it is for

JobNimbus presents itself primarily to roofing contractors. A buyer in another trade should check templates, job stages, supplier links and terminology against a sample job before committing to a plan.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Prepare a quote from measurements and product choices, then present a proposal for signature. Templates and supplier pricing are available in the vendor workflow, but their fit depends on supplier connection and the team’s own price book. Confirm the finished document with one fictional job.

Convert an estimate into an invoice rather than retyping line items; JobNimbus says customers can pay directly. Check taxes, deposit handling and the customer’s view before sending a real bill.

JobNimbus Payments can take credit or debit cards and ACH/eCheck. An invoice can carry a payment button, and a text link is another collection route. Confirm merchant eligibility, processing rates, refund controls and settlement terms for the business’s region before relying on payment collection.

JobNimbus lets web users upload photos to a Job, while iOS and Android users can take or add photos from a Job record. The photo editors support text and shape markup across those platforms, allowing a field image to carry a visible note. In a fictional inspection handoff, check which roles can view or share the marked-up photo, whether the unedited original remains available, and whether the downloaded file is the version your office needs for its records.

Pricing and getting started

JobNimbus advertises a fourteen-day trial without a credit card. Use it to run a sample lead through estimate, job, invoice and reporting views; confirm which integrations and payment setup are available during the trial.

The current plan page names Essentials, Pro, Premium and Enterprise but asks buyers to request a price. Included users rise from three on Essentials to ten on Pro, nineteen on Premium and twenty or more on Enterprise; board and automation allowances also differ. Get a written quote for the actual user roles and add-ons.

The vendor says monthly or annual agreements may be available depending on plan and onboarding needs. Confirm the proposed term, renewal, implementation help, supplier connections and payment-processing contract in the written order instead of assuming the trial determines paid terms.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

After the sale, teams can turn an estimate into a material order and assign a work order to crew members or subcontractors. Test supplier connections and approval steps with a noncustomer project; a quoted material price is useful only when the correct account and supplier are linked.

The mobile app is intended for field estimates, proposals and signatures on iOS and Android. Check a technician’s actual device, connectivity and role permissions before treating a desktop workflow as field-ready.

For a pilot, create a fictional customer and job, record a measurement, produce an estimate, inspect its signed version, convert it to an invoice and review status on the board. Have office and field users repeat their own steps and verify that totals and permissions match the business process.

For a move or an independent records copy, plan separate exports. JobNimbus directs users to save and export Custom Reports for transactional data and to use Download All on each Contact or Job for attachments. A Contact ZIP omits files attached to linked Jobs even when Show Related displays them; open each related record or ask Support about bulk export for high-volume records. Check a representative Contact and linked Job before relying on an archive. No complete account archive was tested here.

JobNimbus's CSV importer accepts Contacts, not Jobs. For a move into the platform, map a small authorized Contact file to the intended standard and custom fields, then verify the imported records. Plan historical Jobs separately with the vendor before promising a full migration; no account import or job transfer was tested here.

Before enabling a JobNimbus email automation, test its trigger, template, attachments and recipient choice on a fictional Contact and related Job. The documented Send Email action offers Contact and Related Contacts, but selecting Related Contacts excludes the primary Contact/Customer on the record. Check both who receives the message and who is left out before sending a real customer email.

Before JobNimbus's first QuickBooks Online Accounting Sync, compare existing Contact and Job display names in both systems; the vendor says mismatches create duplicates. Inspect the generated import report, correct records and use Re-check before the final Sync Now. Sync-created records are not removed by disconnecting and the process cannot be undone, so agree on a record-cleanup plan before enabling a live sync.

If you plan to use JobNimbus Engage to send automated customer texts, check who owns replies before enabling a workflow. JobNimbus says sent automated messages appear in Engage’s Archived tab, while customer replies move to Unassigned and are not routed automatically to the job’s sales rep. Configure Unassigned conversation notifications for the people who will monitor them, and rehearse with a test Contact or Job. Confirm Engage access and the customer’s messaging opt-in before any live text.

For a crew that dispatches from Google Calendar, Outlook or iCal, test a scheduled Job and a Task separately. JobNimbus says Tasks can sync to a connected external calendar, while dates set through Contact, Job or Work Order Scheduling appear on the JobNimbus calendar but do not create Tasks and do not sync out. In a trial, use fictional records to verify what the dispatcher and field worker actually see, then choose where the team will maintain its schedule before booking real work.

JobNimbus's New Jobs Experience can merge duplicate Jobs only when they share the same Parent Contact. The merge cannot be undone, and thread replies on the duplicate Job do not carry over. Before an authorized merge, choose the primary Job, download the duplicate's financial documents, photos and PDFs for possible re-upload, and copy any thread replies the team needs to keep. Rehearse with fictional same-parent Jobs and a permitted user, then check attachments and discussion on the survivor. The Help guide does not establish how any QuickBooks-synced transactions reconcile, so verify those separately.

JobNimbus treats multi-signer estimates and custom documents differently. Its current Help says an emailed estimate reaches the primary signer first, then each next signer after the preceding signature; estimate links expire after seven days and an estimate cannot be edited after a signing request. A custom-document request emails all designated signers without enforcing that sequence, and its signature link is valid for 30 days; the document also locks when sent. If approval order or response time matters, demonstrate both flows with fictional signers, confirm the available signer-order controls in your account, and decide how expired or changed requests will be handled before using customer documents.

JobNimbus Payments separates a refund after a payment is Captured or Settled from a Void or Cancel while it is Approved. A void reverses the authorization, while a cancel removes the transaction from the daily batch and may leave the authorization usable. A refund or void in the Payments portal does not change the Job's payment record in JobNimbus; deleting that record does not refund the customer or change the portal transaction. Ask the billing owner for a nonlive walkthrough of both records and current processing terms before relying on this reconciliation path; funding, timing and fees can vary by payment method and account.

Before relying on JobNimbus calendar sync, choose the direction for each calendar. Google offers Task-only two-way sync: changes to synced Tasks flow both ways, but events created in Google do not enter JobNimbus. A separate two-way mode includes Google-created events, while Task-only one-way sync sends changes from JobNimbus to Google. Outlook and iCal use a one-way JobNimbus subscription; the Outlook guide warns that new items may take 3–24 hours to appear. With fictional Tasks and external events, decide where staff will create or edit them and whether that delay works for dispatch.

For a team expecting JobNimbus Analytics in the field, check the phone app route with a fictional report. JobNimbus says its iOS and Android app shows the same Analytics dashboards and reports as JobNimbus Web and lets users adjust dashboard filters, while JobNimbus is unsupported in a mobile browser. Confirm the team's Analytics access and device policy before promising phone-based report review; opening Safari or Chrome is not a supported fallback.

Before treating a blank or unchanged JobNimbus Insights view as a pipeline gap, check its last sync time, filters, date range and viewer's access with fictional Jobs. JobNimbus says Insights data sync hourly; conflicting filters can produce no data, and Limited Access profiles see only Contacts or Jobs assigned to them as Sales Rep. For the Sales tab, use JobNimbus Estimates or Invoices in the sample and compare the result after the next sync. A new record's absence immediately after entry or a blank view alone does not prove that no sales work occurred.

If JobNimbus Forms will serve as site-visit evidence, test a form on a fictional Job before promising that a required photo always produces an image. JobNimbus's Help says the mobile app offers a Not Present skip for a required photo item; a submitted Form can be edited but cannot be deleted. Agree on how staff explain a missing photo and review corrections before using a submitted Form as proof of work. The guides do not establish an edit history or guarantee that every submitted Form contains a photo.

Before relying on an unattended JobNimbus follow-up, model a time-based rule with a fictional Job that remains in a chosen status. JobNimbus says the rule selects a triggering record, relative timing, conditions and an action, such as creating a follow-up task. Check which conditions are available for that Job record, who would receive the task and whether the rule is active. Duplicating an automation retains its Time-Based or Event-Based type, so confirm the needed trigger before adapting an existing rule. Verify the chosen account's automation allowance and workflow settings; no Job, task or customer message was created or sent.
