Joblogic

What it does

Joblogic is field-service software for UK contractors coordinating office and engineer work. It brings customers, sites, assets, jobs, scheduling, quotes, field reports and invoices into a shared workflow. Those are vendor-described functions; this profile has not tested a customer account or measured an operating result.

A service job can move from logging and scheduling through an engineer visit to reporting and billing. Office staff can see the planner and job status, while engineers receive work details on the mobile app and return notes, photos and other completion evidence. Plan and permission settings determine which steps a team can use.

Who it is for

Standard is positioned for sole traders and smaller teams handling reactive jobs. Premium adds planned preventive maintenance contracts, route scheduling, engineer tracking and purchase-order functions for more structured service work. Enterprise targets multi-site operations needing features such as the customer portal, stock management, group invoicing and custom configuration.

The fit depends on the kind of work as much as headcount. A reactive-maintenance team may need only job logging, mobile reports and invoices; a contractor billing recurring visits across many sites should map its PPM, asset, portal and finance requirements to the published plan comparison. Marketplace modules can add another entitlement and cost layer.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Log a job against a customer and site, then assign it to an engineer from a planner with calendar and status views. The scheduling page describes one-off visits, recurring work and drag-and-drop dispatch. Its broader route and location features should be checked against the chosen plan, where route scheduling and engineer tracking start in Premium.

Create job invoices and track their status. The invoicing page describes job-by-job, batch and consolidated billing, plus links to accounting software; the plan table reserves group invoicing for Enterprise. A business with consolidated or contract billing should confirm the exact feature and tier in its quote.

Joblogic describes adding a Stripe payment link to an emailed invoice through a connected account. The payment page says Stripe charges per transaction. It also describes taking payment through the engineer app; confirm the merchant setup, fees and chosen payment flow rather than treating payment processing as free or verified here.

Pricing and getting started

The UK pricing page lists Standard with per-user pricing billed annually, but its displayed starting amount and five-user example do not reconcile. Premium and Enterprise require a tailored quote. A paid user is anyone who logs in, including office staff, managers and field engineers; portal users such as customers are described as outside that count. Obtain a written price, tax, seat and module breakdown for the actual order.

Standard advertises a free trial without a card, while Premium and Enterprise are offered through tailored demos. Joblogic says onboarding may carry a fee, typical customer commitments are 24 or 36 months, a 12-month term can be arranged, and downgrades take effect at renewal. The trial duration and a universal contract term are not established here; obtain the complete commercial terms in writing.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Walk through a representative reactive job, an engineer report and its invoice with the people who will actually log in. Count schedulers, finance users, managers and engineers, and test the mobile app in any locations with weak connectivity. This exposes seat and workflow requirements before a contract is signed.

If customers need self-service job updates or document and invoice access, verify portal entitlement in the proposed order. The UK plan comparison places the Customer Portal in Enterprise, while the standalone portal page describes it as part of the core system. Ask Joblogic to state which plan and modules will provide it for your account.

For planned maintenance or finance-heavy operations, ask for a demonstration of PPM visit generation, asset history, route planning, invoice grouping, accounting sync and payment reconciliation using the exact proposed plan and modules. Confirm onboarding fees, renewal and downgrade conditions, card fees and any Marketplace charges. No compliance outcome, faster payment or labour saving has been verified by this profile.

Engineers can receive job details, site assets, appointments, access instructions and attachments in the mobile app. They can return notes, photos, signatures, parts and timesheet information with a completed job report. The vendor says offline use is limited, so a team working in weak-signal areas should test the actual capture and sync path.

Keep asset records linked to customers, sites and jobs. Standard includes asset management in the current plan matrix, while the extra task and asset compliance features are listed for Enterprise. Buyers should separate recording an asset's history from any specialised compliance workflow they must prove.

For planned maintenance, the PPM workflow can set visit frequency by site, allocate assets or tasks, generate visits and dispatch them to engineers. It also describes contract quotes and billing choices. The current plan table places PPM contracts in Premium and above; these workflows should not be assumed to be in Standard simply because a general feature page describes them.

Before relying on Dynamic Reports for a finance handoff or retained records, test a representative CSV download. Joblogic says an export of a filtered report includes only the filtered results, and scheduled exports can be emailed to internal or external recipients. Check the report fields, filters, recipients and account permissions against the records you need; this profile has not run an export or confirmed delivery.

Joblogic's mobile app can complete visits, forms and signatures without signal, but it needs an internet connection to download new visit details to the device first. It stores offline entries until they sync over a secure connection. If engineers work in weak coverage, load a sample visit while online and confirm its form and completion details reach the office after reconnection before relying on that workflow.

Before sharing jobsheets or giving customers portal access, test what they can see from a sample job. Joblogic says engineers can mark visit and site notes and attachments private, while account settings control whether new mobile and back-office notes start public or private; private notes do not appear on customer-facing documents or portals. Use non-sensitive sample content to check the intended staff permissions and the actual jobsheet and portal views.

Joblogic says a quote email can include a Portal Link that opens quote details without a Customer Portal user login. The recipient can download the quote and may pay a deposit from that link if the right settings are in place. Before sending real quotes, test a non-sensitive sample with the intended recipient and check who can open the link, which details it shows, and whether a deposit action appears. Confirm the portal and payment setup included in the proposed plan; this profile has not tested link access or payment.

Before setting a Joblogic quote Expiry Date, rehearse late approval in Customer Portal with a harmless quote. Joblogic says a customer cannot approve or reject an expired quote from their Portal account. Staff can review prices or items and move the expiry date forward to return the quote to Outstanding and extend the Portal approval window; the date change is logged in History > Audit. If the team also emails no-login quote links, test that route separately because the expiry guide describes Customer Portal account approval.

Before cancelling a Joblogic planned preventative maintenance contract, review its jobs by status and reconcile any draft invoices with the service and finance teams. Joblogic says cancellation irreversibly cancels jobs still marked New Job, regardless of their visit dates, and deletes draft invoices without recovery. Open or completed jobs and approved invoices remain. The cancelled contract cannot be renewed or used to create more visits or invoices, so check the affected records before confirming the change.

Before relying on Joblogic's Customer Portal for new-work intake, have staff walk through a non-sensitive quote request for a sample site. The guide gives portal users separate create, view and cancel permissions, and lets teams set recipients for submitted, cancelled or rejected-request emails. Back-office staff can reject a request with a reason or accept it, choose which assets, notes and attachments flow into a quote, then amend that quote before saving. Confirm the roles, alert recipients and Quote Requests entitlement in the proposed plan; this profile has not operated a customer account.

Joblogic's Customer Portal setup distinguishes Customer access, which shows all sites and items for that customer, from Site access limited to selected sites. Its guide says a portal user's access level cannot be changed after setup; separate User Role & Permissions settings control which information is visible. Saving a new user sends a password-setup email to the entered address. Before inviting anyone, compare fictional head-office and site-only users against the intended jobs, quotes and PPM records, then check the recipient address, role permissions and portal entitlement in the proposed plan. No portal user or invitation was created here.
