Who it is for
A product or engineering team can use projects and issues to track work, break larger tasks into sub-issues and assign one person to each issue. The automatic action-item link helps an assignee schedule that work in a personal planner.
A team that wants task tracking alongside documents and workspace communication may benefit from configurable modules. It should test membership and invitation settings before moving real project information into a shared workspace.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Projects and issues. Issues live inside projects, can be divided into sub-issues, and can carry an assignee, priority, estimate, due date, labels and attachments. Begin with a realistic project and check that its issue structure suits the team's process.
From assignment to schedule. An assigned issue in Todo status automatically creates a personal Planner action item. The team planner then displays scheduled work by project in agenda or calendar form, subject to membership and visibility settings.
Tracking views. Issues can be viewed as a list or Kanban board and sorted, filtered or searched. Huly's documentation says it currently lacks a Gantt chart and dedicated workload or capacity visualization, so evaluate its planner against any scheduling requirements.
Workspace controls. Owners and maintainers can invite people; invitation links support limits and an email-domain mask. New members do not automatically enter projects and teamspaces unless auto join is enabled. Review this alongside each project's permissions.
Modules and exit data. Tracker and Documents are examples of configurable modules. Disabling a module hides its existing data without deleting it; workspace settings also offer backup download and JSON or CSV export. Test a sample before treating those formats as a complete migration path.

Pricing and getting started
The current Huly Cloud page displays Common at $0 monthly, Rare at $19.99, Epic at $99.99 and Legendary at $399.99, plus a custom quote. The standard tiers advertise unlimited users and Huly objects; their practical differences include storage and video/audio traffic allowances.
Common lists 10GB storage and 10GB call traffic, Rare 100GB of each, Epic 1TB storage and 500GB traffic, and Legendary 10TB storage and 2TB traffic. Documents and attachments count toward storage while Huly objects do not; compare actual file and calling use before choosing a tier.
Self-hosting is available on your own server. The vendor warns that some Cloud services or integrations may need additional setup or are not packaged for self-hosting, and support is community-driven. Confirm the exact modules and integrations your deployment needs.
Moving from self-hosted Huly to Cloud has no GUI migration path; the vendor describes manual export/import with guidance. In the other direction, a workspace owner can use desktop Backup and restore to self-hosted. Test the path before committing to either environment.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
Pilot an issue from creation through assignment and a scheduled action item. Check how the issue appears in both list and Kanban views and what a teammate sees in the planner when visibility is restricted.
Check project access with a newly invited member and the intended auto-join setting. Invite-link duration and email-domain limits help control entry to a workspace but do not replace a project membership check.
If the team needs Gantt or capacity planning, inspect the current planner before migrating. Its calendar shows scheduled hours, while official documentation says a Gantt chart and dedicated capacity view are not currently provided.
Estimate attachments, documents and call traffic against Cloud tier allowances. For self-hosting, separately verify required integrations and support; then test a small backup/export and restore because migration differs by direction.
