Fluent Support

What it does

Fluent Support is a help desk plugin that runs inside WordPress. A customer submits a support request through a portal, the request becomes a ticket in a business inbox, and an agent can claim or receive it, respond, add private context and resolve it. The same portal lets the customer follow and reply to the conversation.

Find your fit

Who it is for

It fits a WordPress-based shop, course business or support team that wants customer tickets alongside its existing site. The free plugin covers a basic web portal and ticket queue; a team needing tickets from inbound email, multiple inboxes or workflow automation should examine Pro.

The plugin depends on a working WordPress installation. A team that wants the support operation on one WordPress site while customers use a different main site can evaluate the Pro Remote Portal setup, which adds a second-site connection and HTTPS requirements.

Core capabilities

Customers use the portal to submit and view tickets. They can filter or search their requests, and a reply to a closed ticket can reopen the conversation. Configure the portal’s access and test the reopen behavior with a sample customer before exposing it broadly.

A business inbox groups inquiries for a brand, department or website. In the agent dashboard, the all, assigned and unassigned queues make it easier to see who owns what. For a larger operation, inbox restrictions can limit an agent to the service they handle.

Opening a ticket gives the agent a place to answer the customer and update ticket details. The agent can send a reply and resolve the ticket in one action, or add an internal note that stays out of the customer conversation. Set agent permissions before recording sensitive context.

Administrators can add staff and limit their ticket permissions and business-inbox access. Email notifications can alert customers or agents on events such as a new ticket, reply or closure. Verify those messages with controlled addresses in the actual WordPress mail configuration.

Pro email piping can turn messages to a support address into tickets, but forwarding and the email-based inbox must be configured. Test an incoming message, agent response and customer reply end to end; security settings that block the WordPress REST API can stop this intake path.

Pro workflow automation can act on ticket events such as creation or customer reply under defined conditions. A small pilot with fictional tickets helps catch rules that assign to the wrong agent, change status prematurely or send an unintended response.

Remote Portal is an optional Pro setup for a second WordPress site. Customers open and follow tickets on the main site while agents work on the support site; evaluate the connection, customer identity and HTTPS path before relying on it for production support.

Pricing and getting started

The free WordPress plugin covers web-based ticketing, one inbox, unlimited tickets, agent permissions and basic reporting. The vendor also says agents can be added without a per-agent charge. That is a plugin licensing statement, not a promise of free WordPress hosting, backups or email delivery.

Pro adds email piping, workflow automation, advanced integrations, multiple inboxes and priority support. It is an add-on to the free plugin. The viewed pricing page sells annual licences by site/domain count and displays a first-year promotion; confirm the current purchase and renewal amount rather than treating a temporary discount as the ongoing price.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Pilot with fictional data from both sides: submit a portal ticket, find it in the unassigned queue, assign an agent, add a private note, reply and resolve it, then let the customer reopen it. Check that the right staff can see the ticket and that the customer never sees internal notes.

Before buying Pro, confirm which inboxes and email routes are needed, and test the site’s outbound notifications and inbound piping separately. Budget for WordPress hosting and maintenance as well as the annual licence. If using Remote Portal, verify the second-site connection and who owns the customer account data.
