Who it is for
A shop, hospitality team or other shift-based organization can replace a shared spreadsheet with one schedule, shift requests and notifications. Check whether each manager needs an independent team, since billing is per team.
A manager who pays for actual hours can use the clock and approval flow to compare attendance with the plan. The system records and reports hours; the employer remains responsible for pay rules and reviewing exceptions.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
Build the rota with point-and-click edits, drag-and-drop swaps and copied shift patterns. Confirm employee availability and any existing time off before filling an open shift.
Employees can request a shift from their schedule when that permission is enabled. A manager should test which requests are visible, who may accept them and when a changed shift becomes final.
Time off sits beside shifts on the schedule. When an absence is added or approved, the manager can see a warning if a shift already exists for that person. Employees can request or cancel time off if allowed.
Privacy settings can hide approved and pending time-off requests from coworkers. Use fictional entries to check what an employee, manager and designated time-off approver each sees before using sensitive absence categories.
The time clock captures arrivals, unpaid breaks and departures. Scheduled hours remain the plan; clock entries and timesheets represent actual attendance. A missed clock action may need a manager correction in Timesheets.
Employees or managers can submit actual hours as timesheets, and time-clock entries can prefill them. The manager reviews and approves entries before they enter reports and payroll calculations.
Compare scheduled and approved actual hours in the Schedule vs. timesheets report. Run a fictional early arrival and missed punch to see whether the costs and exceptions match the organization’s process.
Email and push notifications can alert employees to schedule changes and upcoming shifts. A new employee welcome message is queued in the Outbox until a manager sends it.

Pricing and getting started
The free tier covers scheduling, timesheets, clocking, reporting and support for a team of up to five employees. It allows only one week of forward planning and one week of history, with no templates, custom columns, real-time reporting or payroll calculations.
Paid plans are priced per team, with Starter, Business and Enterprise increasing member and manager capacity and the planning and history windows. Count the independently managed teams you need and inspect the current regional currency and monthly or yearly total before subscribing.
Email, push and Slack delivery are listed as free, while SMS messages cost extra. The vendor advertises a three-month all-features introductory period; confirm current eligibility, selected tier and what happens when it ends.
Look a little closer
Before you choose
Pilot one fictional week: enter shifts, request time off, clock an early arrival, correct a missed punch and approve the timesheet. Compare the resulting actual-hours report with the original rota before using it for real payroll.
The free plan’s one-week planning and history windows may be too short for a business that prepares rosters well ahead or needs older records on screen. Check the tier limits against actual retention and scheduling needs.
Plan the team structure before comparing prices. Several independent manager groups can produce several subscriptions even if the combined employee headcount fits one paid tier.
Check notification choices and employee visibility with mock data. The Outbox requires a deliberate welcome send, coworker time-off visibility is configurable, and optional SMS creates another cost.
