Who it is for

It is most relevant to teams whose sales communication already happens in Outlook and whose customer details are spread across individual inboxes. A pilot should include the exact Windows, Mac, browser and phone clients the team uses, because Desktop, Online and Mobile paths differ.

If staff mainly work outside Microsoft mail, the Outlook-first design is a dependency to weigh. Verify the functions each role needs on its chosen device and client before moving the whole contact database.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Outlook contacts can be imported into a shared database, synchronized back to Outlook, and grouped by company. Agree on record ownership and cleanup rules before several colleagues import overlapping address books.

The sales page describes email history organized by contact and deal. Colleagues can use that context when taking over a relationship. In a pilot, compare a representative shared-inbox thread with the CRM record and decide what must be saved manually.

A user can select an Outlook inquiry and convert it into a deal. Known contact and company details may prefill the record, and the original email is attached. Check the generated customer, contact and address before saving, especially when several organizations share a domain.

Deal creation can use optional AI features, which the how-to says can be enabled or disabled. Review generated fields separately from the basic conversion flow and decide whether the team wants the AI-assisted path.

Meetings and tasks can be associated with a deal, company or contact. The sales page also describes multiple workflows that can generate reminders, email notifications and required-field checks. Map actual sales stages before configuring automation, then test one follow-up and one required field.

After a deal is won, it can become a delivery project with related communication history. The documented conversion path is Projects Lite, so treat it as a separate module and plan check rather than assuming it is part of the Free sales setup.

The vendor describes a full Windows Desktop client, an Outlook 365 Online add-in across Mac/web/mobile/PC, and native mobile apps. Test the exact actions each role performs on its own client; cross-platform availability does not establish feature parity.

Pricing and getting started

The official pricing page shows Contacts & Companies Free at $0 for unlimited users, and the how-to marks email-to-deal conversion as Sales Free. These Free tiers have limited feature rights; confirm the exact combination needed for the pilot before relying on a no-cost setup.

Each module has Free, Lite, Standard and Plus levels. If Contacts & Companies stays Free, Sales, Projects and Marketing must also stay Free. A paid core module allows the others to remain Free or be upgraded. Price the whole module combination, not only the Sales line.

The vendor says everyone using a particular module must have the same plan tier for that module. Work out how many staff need core contacts, sales deals and project delivery. The pricing page displays monthly, yearly and three-year selectors, so get a dated written total with currency, billing term and seat count.

The pricing FAQ says an account returns to eWay-CRM Free after a trial if it is not upgraded. Confirm which records, users and features remain accessible at that point; the captured public page does not prove the behavior in a real account.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

A useful acceptance test is one representative Outlook inquiry: match or create the contact and company, convert the email to a deal, schedule a follow-up, advance the stage, and ask another salesperson to inspect the history. If delivery follows sales, test Projects Lite handoff separately.

Before importing real customer information, check duplicate handling, automatic email saving, role access and export against the organization’s own privacy and migration needs. The captured public pages do not establish a lossless move from a particular mailbox or CRM.
