What it does

erxes brings lead and customer records into a Sales pipeline while offering separate Frontline conversation and Operation task modules. Its CRM fit is clearest when a team wants deal progress tied to the same customer context used elsewhere in the business.

The buying choice is unusually modular: a free self-hosted Community Edition sits beside paid plugin tiers and the Everything bundles. Check the particular modules and AI rights in the proposed setup before comparing headline monthly prices.

Who it is for

A sales team can register a fictional lead, assign an owner, place a deal in a pipeline and move it through its stages. The current guide also lets an administrator set board and stage visibility, so a permissions check belongs in the trial plan.

A support team that needs the same customer context can consider Frontline for conversations, tickets and forms. The Everything page describes conversations carrying Sales CRM context; confirm the linking workflow with a safe sample before importing real contacts.

A team that wants post-sale work in the same system can evaluate Operation, where the vendor places projects, milestones, cycles and tasks. Keep that module distinct from the core deal pipeline when judging CRM value.

A technically capable organization may run Community Edition on its own infrastructure. That choice shifts installation, maintenance, backup and support planning to its operators even though the software licence is free.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Core Contacts has separate customer, company, lead and client-portal-user tabs. Its customer guide describes search, filters, import and export; test a tiny fictional CSV and confirm which fields become visible to which team.

A lead record can include an owner and contact details before conversion. Keep lead and customer status definitions clear when mapping records from a previous CRM.

Sales groups deal pipelines into boards and lets teams configure stages. Use a sample deal to check stage names and movement; do not assume the default workflow matches the team’s sales process.

Pipeline settings include public or private visibility, users who can see all deals, and stage probability and visibility fields. Test a restricted user against a sensitive fictional deal before relying on the permissions design.

The Sales product also advertises quotes, orders, ecommerce and POS. Those are broader than a contact-and-deal CRM; verify feature scope, payments and regional fit before including them in a purchasing case.

Frontline advertises a team inbox, ticket management, forms and multiple message channels. Confirm channel setup and any paid integration requirements, then check that customer context follows the conversation as expected.

The platform describes a Sales deal reaching an Operation task, with CRM context present in a Frontline conversation. Trace one sample deal into the expected task and ownership state rather than assume every transition is automatic.

Pricing and getting started

Community Edition is presented as free, self-hosted and AGPL licensed. Budget for infrastructure, upgrades, backups and operational support; optional vendor services are a separate decision.

The current Sales card shows Plus at $49 and Pro at $99 per organization per month in USD. Frontline has its own similarly structured card, so buying Sales alone should not be treated as buying the support inbox.

The Everything page shows a $99/month bundle with Sales, Frontline, Operation and Content at Pro tiers, and a $250/month Everything + BYOK bundle that adds erxes Assistant Pro. Verify the live order terms, taxes and named included modules.

Sales Pro and Frontline Pro cards mention agents with a buyer-supplied LLM key, while the separate BYOK bundle describes broader agents. Ask for written entitlement, provider and usage terms before planning an AI-dependent workflow.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Before migration, use invented records to test a lead, customer, two deal stages and one restricted team member. Compare the resulting ownership, access and history with the previous CRM before importing real data.

If the shared platform is the reason to buy, separately test a Frontline conversation carrying Sales context and a deal creating an Operation task. Confirm the exact modules in the quote and keep a fallback process for any connection that does not work as expected.

Compare the total of hosted plugins or bundle terms against the internal cost of Community Edition. Include maintenance, backups, support and any separate model-key charges instead of treating “free” as zero operating cost.
