Craft

What it does

Craft brings notes, documents and tasks into one writing workspace. A person can capture an idea in a block-based page, turn it into a structured document, keep related tasks close to the writing and organize the result into spaces, folders, tags or collections. Sharing and publishing options make finished work usable beyond the author.

Find your fit

Who it is for

It suits individuals who keep working notes, briefs or daily plans and want those ideas to grow into readable documents. Craft also supports small groups that need a shared Space, but the current plan table places that entitlement with its multi-account bundles rather than the single-account Plus offer.

A knowledge team may find it useful for guides, meeting notes and collections of structured records. A task-heavy team should check whether embedded tasks and daily planning give enough assignment and reporting depth for its process before treating Craft as its main project system.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Start with a blank document and build from movable blocks. A sentence, checklist, image or other idea can be rearranged as the page develops. Rich embeds and previews let supporting videos, PDFs or design files sit beside the explanation instead of living in disconnected folders.

Use spaces, folders and tags to separate subjects, then add a Collection when a topic needs structured entries. Collections live inside documents, and each item can hold its own detail. Try a short list of projects or resources and change its grouping or view to see whether readers can find the right record.

Keep action items in context by placing tasks inside a brief or meeting note. Daily Notes provide a dated place for plans and reflection, while the Calendar view can put scheduled work near those notes. Apple Calendar sync is described separately; verify the device and calendar setup before depending on it.

Craft's writing page describes offline editing, using Apple devices as its example, and the current download area also lists Windows and Android. A buyer using several platforms should test the intended offline, sync and attachment workflow on those devices rather than assuming every platform behaves identically.

Craft lets an author style a document and reuse styles across notes and blocks. Whiteboards offer a more spatial place for text, images and links when the team needs to brainstorm or map a plan before writing a polished page.

When a document is ready for others, Craft describes live-updating links, comments, collaboration and web publishing. Test a non-sensitive example with the intended recipients and link settings before sharing an internal guide or client-facing page.

Craft also describes AI assistance for summaries, translation and custom prompts, with cloud and on-device model choices. Check the model, available credits and review process before using it with important or sensitive material; the generated output still needs a human read-through.

Pricing and getting started

Craft Free currently lists a 1,500-block content limit and 1 GB storage, so a small collection of notes is a better trial than a full library migration. Count blocks and attachments in a representative sample before assuming the free tier will cover ongoing use.

Plus is presented as one individual account with no content limit. The comparison also separates version-history duration and AI assistant credits by tier. Check the current feature table for the exact plan being considered, including media upload and storage allowances, before upgrading.

For shared work, Family bundles two to six Plus accounts and Team bundles up to ten, with a shared Space in each. The comparison shows shared Space as unavailable on Free. Count collaborators and check sharing rights before treating an individual Plus subscription as a team plan.

The captured pricing page used Canadian dollars and offered annual and monthly selectors; Craft also flags that country prices can differ. Confirm the displayed currency, selected term, taxes and checkout amount for your region rather than using a single universal rate from this profile.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

For a practical pilot, write one brief, put two tasks in it, add a linked collection of a few records and share a copy with one intended reader. That shows whether the document, task and structured-data model suits the team's actual work before importing a large archive.

If the work must be available while travelling, test offline editing, reconnection and any large attachments on the exact devices the team uses. Craft advertises offline writing and downloads for several platforms, but platform-specific behavior is best confirmed with a harmless document.

Before publishing or inviting a wider group, inspect the link and comment options using a non-sensitive page. Keep internal notes separate from material intended for public sharing, and verify what a viewer can see without a Craft account.

Plan around the current content and shared-space allowances. Free has a 1,500-block limit; Plus is an individual plan; Family and Team are the displayed shared-space bundles. Recheck prices and AI credits for the selected billing term and region at purchase time.
