Bob

What it does

Bob is HiBob’s HR platform for keeping employee records, roles and daily people processes in one place. Core is the starting HRIS; organizations can extend that shared record into talent, payroll and planning suites. A typical workflow starts with an employee record, routes requests and approvals to the right people, and keeps the resulting changes visible to HR and managers.

Find your fit

Who it is for

Bob is aimed at growing companies that need more structure than scattered spreadsheets and separate HR tools. It suits an HR team managing multiple managers, locations or worker groups, especially when employee changes and approvals need a consistent record.

It can also suit a company that wants talent or payroll tools around the same people data. Because these are separate suites or modules, map the exact work your team needs before treating the broad platform description as the purchased scope.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Core stores people, roles, skills and organizational relationships in a shared HR record. Employees can request profile changes while managers and HR use role-based self-service and approval paths. Check who can view or change sensitive fields for each role and region.

Workflows can assign tasks when someone joins, moves role or leaves. Bob describes lifecycle triggers, named handoffs, status tracking and policy rules by role or location. A pilot should follow one example employee change from request through approval and final record update.

For onboarding, the automation page describes structured tasks triggered by lifecycle events. The platform page also presents onboarding within its Talent offering, so ask HiBob to identify which onboarding steps and templates are in Core and which require a Talent module.

Bob’s self-service can be used on mobile for tasks and approvals, with language and regional formatting support. Test a representative employee and manager path on the devices your staff use, including what each role can see.

The vendor describes documents and eSign within workflows. This can help an HR team generate, sign and track paperwork during a change, but the quote should specify the document and signature features included in the selected package.

Time Off covers requests, approvals and shared calendars; Time & Attendance describes clocking and project-hour entry. Bob describes moving time data toward payroll. Verify the relevant policies, time capture method and payroll connection for each country and module in scope.

For departures, Bob describes tasks for HR, IT, payroll and managers, with owners for handover and asset return. Try a sample exit plan and confirm the required access-removal and record-retention steps with your own security and HR teams.

Beyond Core, Bob Hiring, Talent and Learning cover recruiting, reviews, goals and learning programs. Payroll is another separate suite. Compare these modules against your existing systems rather than assuming every function is included in Core.

Pricing and getting started

HiBob does not publish a standard starting price on its current pricing page. It says the quote generally reflects employee count and selected modules; Core is in every plan, and modules or integrations can be added. Ask for the precise employee definition, minimums, modules, implementation services and support scope in writing.

Pricing may vary by region, and a sales request leads to a walkthrough and tailored quote. Compare the quote with the needed countries, payroll jurisdictions and current staff count. If adding modules later matters, ask how the subscription changes as the workforce grows.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Prepare a short test around a new hire, a role change and a departure. Trace data ownership, employee self-service, approvals, documents, time-off policy and task completion, including what managers and employees see on mobile.

Have HiBob name every included suite and module, especially onboarding, attendance, Talent and payroll. Obtain the quote and implementation responsibilities for the actual regions, then check how employee records will be moved in and later exported.
