Find your fit

Who it is for

A retailer building a direct online store can start with product import and storefront setup, then test the full purchasing path before launch. It should check whether the platform and chosen plan fit its actual merchandise and team.

A business selling across several channels or brands can use one inventory and order hub, with additional storefronts for distinct audiences where the chosen plan supports them. Confirm app and operational compatibility before moving an existing store.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Online storefront. Import products and customize the storefront. Start with a representative set of products and check the resulting customer-facing pages before a large import.

Inventory. BigCommerce describes tracking stock across products, locations and storefronts. Map the planned sales channels and test how stock quantities change before depending on the setup operationally.

Orders. BigCommerce describes managing orders from several sales channels in one location, including processing, fulfillment and tracking. Run representative test orders before moving live sales.

Pricing and getting started

Current displayed plans. BigCommerce now names its self-serve tiers Core, Growth and Scale. Its 2026 price update shows $39, $105 and $399 per month on monthly billing, or monthly equivalents of $29, $79 and $299 when billed annually. Performance is custom-priced, starting at $1,499 per month billed annually. Confirm current currency, tax, billing term and selected features at checkout.

Sales-volume conditions. Core and Growth have $30,000 and $100,000 trailing-12-month Inclusive GMV thresholds and can upgrade automatically. Scale lists a $33,333 monthly Inclusive GMV threshold with a 0.9% charge above it. BigCommerce defines Inclusive GMV for these rules as gross order value after a 10% reduction; check the account dashboard rather than using raw sales totals.

Trial and payment fees. BigCommerce describes a 15-day trial without a credit card. Its 2026 terms separately charge a plan-dependent fee for orders routed through Open Payment Providers on self-serve plans; eligible Embedded Payment Provider orders avoid that fee. Check provider classification and your expected order mix before estimating total cost.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Plan fit. The pricing page places phone support on Growth and above while Core retains chat and email. Compare the chosen tier’s storefront, staff, and support allowances with the actual rollout plan.

Migration. The public product pages describe importing products, using multiple storefronts, and managing inventory. Prepare a small representative product set and test stock and order handling before a full move.

B2B scope. BigCommerce highlights purchase orders, quote-to-cart and net terms under B2B Edition. Verify that separate edition and its quote with the vendor if those workflows drive the decision; do not assume they are included in a self-serve tier.

Trial exit. BigCommerce says an unupgraded trial store becomes unavailable to shoppers and retained data is deleted after 90 days. Decide on a plan and export or preserve needed work before the trial ends.

The public pages establish the named storefront, inventory and order functions and displayed terms, but this research did not create a store, process an order or test an integration. Check the current agreement and region, then run a complete test purchase before moving a live storefront.
