Who it is for

For a creator or marketing team publishing a recurring newsletter, a new issue can start from a blank draft or saved template. The current post flow moves through Compose, Audience, Email, Web and Review, so one post can be prepared for email, web or both. The vendor says its help article is being updated for recent editor changes, so confirm exact screen labels in an account.

The editor supports preview of email and web versions and a test email. At the Audience step, select email and web audiences and, on an eligible paid plan, include or exclude segments. Set the subject and preview text, then review recipients and settings before publishing or scheduling.

Segments group subscribers by attributes or activity. A static segment is a fixed snapshot, a dynamic segment refreshes daily, and a manual segment uses an uploaded selection. The type matters when an audience might change between planning and sending.

Segments are available on every plan for analysis and list cleanup, but the current help guide says publishing a post to a segment requires a paid plan. Free users should check this before choosing beehiiv for targeted newsletters.

On paid plans, automations can enroll a subscriber after a trigger and run steps that send email, wait or branch. The official guide covers templates and building from scratch. Test the trigger, contact matching and existing-subscriber behavior before depending on a live journey.

The work it supports

Core capabilities

Newsletter campaigns. Draft a post, choose its email audience, review the message and publish or schedule it. The same post can also have a web version.

Audience segmentation. Create static, dynamic or manual subscriber segments for analysis and, on paid plans, targeted sends. Dynamic groups recalculate daily rather than continuously.

Email automation. Paid plans can build subscriber journeys using triggers and email actions. Lite has a limited number of live automations; Pro adds capacity and click-triggered options.

Pricing and getting started

The current pricing page advertises a Free forever plan with up to 2,500 subscribers, one publication, one team seat and unlimited email sends. Its analytics lookback is 30 days. These are vendor-published plan terms, not an account or delivery test.

Lite and Pro add paid capabilities. The automation help says Lite allows up to ten live automations across the workspace, while Pro allows unlimited live automations and click triggers. Paid quotes vary with subscriber count and billing term, so verify the current quote before subscribing.

Look a little closer

Before you choose

Decide whether the job is a general newsletter, targeted issues to segments, or a triggered welcome and re-engagement journey. Free supports newsletter sending and segment analysis; targeted segment sends and automations require paid tiers. Check publication count, team seats, subscriber allowance and analytics lookback for the selected tier.

Before sending, verify subscriber consent, email and web audience settings, subject and preview text, and the scheduled audience. A segment can recalculate before the send; an empty email audience may produce a web-only post. No account, list import, test email, real send, automation, billing or delivery result was checked here.
