Who it is for
It is most relevant to agencies, consultancies and other service firms that need to understand the budget and staffing effect of client work as it happens. Pilot one representative engagement with a real project plan and time entries before moving the wider portfolio.
Test both a fixed-fee project and a time-based engagement. The project-plan guide treats fixed and calculated budgets differently, so one pricing model may not show how the other behaves.
The work it supports
Core capabilities
A project can start from an approved quote. Reusable templates can shorten setup for recurring delivery, and a plan can define milestones, tasks, deadlines, dependencies and budgets. Compare one template with the signed scope before assigning work.
The plan includes a Gantt schedule for milestones and task dependencies. Try a delayed prerequisite and a change to scope to see how the remaining schedule and budget are displayed to the project manager.
Staff can record work using task-based time and timers or timesheets. Managers can review logged billable time before invoicing. Compare a sample timesheet with the existing approval and billing process.
The project view brings budget, profitability, work completed and work remaining together. Expenses and materials can also be tracked for reimbursement. Enter a harmless sample project and compare budgeted and actual figures with an independent calculation.
The guide describes fixed-price and time-and-materials project invoices and syncing to Xero or QuickBooks. Confirm the accounting connector, tax configuration and approval step in the quoted setup before treating project data as ready to bill.
Accelo describes client collaboration through a portal. Project-plan editing and the visibility of financial sections depend on permissions, with a project-manager exception in the planning guide. Pilot manager, contributor, finance and client roles before exposing budget data.
The project-plan help recommends keeping a project below 100 tasks because larger plans can save and update more slowly. Test a realistic template for a large engagement and decide whether work should be split into several project records.

Pricing and getting started
Accelo publishes a custom-quote process rather than a fixed public subscription price. The pricing page says the quote is tailored to team size and growth goals. Ask for a written breakdown of user count, modules, billing term, setup, renewal and any optional services.
The current pricing page says plans include implementation guidance and onboarding support. Confirm the actual scope of data migration, project templates, rate-card setup, accounting integration and staff training in the proposal.

Before you choose
Forecast PSA has moved under the Accelo brand while its existing login and data remain intact. The main project page advertises AI-assisted features. Ask Accelo to demonstrate the exact project, resource and AI capabilities included in the specific product and plan quoted; avoid assuming the two platforms are feature-identical.
A useful acceptance test is one full client-project cycle: approved quote, template, assignments, time entries, manager approval, budget comparison and a draft invoice. Ask for a sample export and transition plan if replacing an existing system; the captured pages do not establish completeness of every export path.
